The biggest deterrence to WW3 is how far ahead the USA and NATO is over everyone else. If something happens to the USA, a race war or a large natural disaster I can see Russia and China grabbing what ever influence they can find. I can see Europe taking the role the USA has in the Middle East. Its a huge if but I would not count it out.

The underclasses will become increasingly dissatisfied with the ruling classes (including the petit bourgeois - ie, the yuppie hipster masses) until it erupts in violence. Obviously this will mean some countries fall one way or the other - Northern vs southern will be a thing for example.
