It would be the first time the PLA would have engaged in a fight for 30 years. The Chinks couldn't come close to the battle hardened Russian or American Militaries in terms of effectiveness.

Heey guys,

As you can see on Hoholmaps, you will see that the New Syrian Army, ( A US-Backed rebel groups which only fights ISIS, they are not allowed to fight SAA or FSA, ( Or any other rebel group) ) Is advancing towards Al-Bukamal, this is a city which is close to the Syria-Iraq border.

If they mange to capture it, it will cut off ISIS from Iraq, partly.

For Iraq, this will mean that highway 20 and highway 12 are easily captured due to cut off from ISIS supply lines, also it is manly dessert with a few outpost, which with sufficient airsupport and heavy armor, are easily captured.

So we might see that part of Iraq captured, which IMO is great cause it would mean that one flank of Iraq is secured and they can more easily push towards Mosul. Because with that flank secured, they can focus more troops on the Mossul offensive. A two front war is rather hard to fight.

But back to the NSA.

Are they good or will they maybe backstab USA?

Will they later become to big and powerfull and influence the SAA/ syrian politics. Or are they a proxy army/supply line for ISIS, so a way for CIA to smuggle supplies to ISISI?

Thanks in advance and stay comfy.

Like if you look at Hamza's latest Latakia map, theres little red arrows EVERYWHERE but its actually the jihadists who are on the offensive, not the loyalists. Pic related

Im pro-SAA too but thats just wishful thinking bullshit to throw red arrows everywhere
>>
>>79069086
Also, a few more were seen during the training exercises in the winter
It's either: A - Russia is helping Novorossiya, and I'm happy about this, or B - It's a vehicle donated by some company, because I've heard they were also sold as armored trucks for transporting VIPs and shit like money, diamonds and gold.
>>
>>79069790
they are, but they're not pulling retarded shit all the time. They're winning because they're quite capable for an insurgent group and use the weapon systems they have effectively. The remains of the republican guard are probably extremely helpful too since they can operate the few advanced weapon systems they have left and bring some tactical knowledge into the equation. To bad they apparently ran out of tochkas
>>
>>79069315
Well I got some info for you.

There were rebel groups near the Israel border ,at the Golan heights. This rebel group later plegded alliance to ISIS.

So ISIS is at the Israel border.

Fun fact, Israel had shipped Ammo and other supplies to these groups and even gave them medical help.

Video related:

Also, Israel opposses Syrian goverment, the SAA and Hezbollah ( hezbollah for obvious reasons) Israel had bombed SAA and hezbollah in the past.

ISIS had done a Terrorist attack in Israel so far. I dont know why, goyim

If they were smart they'd try to pull some attacks inside SAA territory on supplies and munitions, and would be pursuing a proper guerrilla war against assad. They can't shoot down a plane but they can blow up a fuel depot.

Its funny to note how travel websites and forums always advise you to stay in government-controlled areas

Its actually interesting to read travel forums from around the start of the war where some westerners were still traveling in and through Syria

Theyre usually unbiased people who dont know shit about the country and just travel through, yet report peaceful demonstrations and reports of abductions by opposition, its not really good for rebel narrative.
>>
Love how the rebell supporters went silent. They know what we know, aleppo has effectivly fallen today. Its long death is now not to stop anymore. And with that any thought of counter gov died as well.
>>
>>79071582
>If you are IN Iraq, the best way to be safe is to GET OUT of Iraq.
>Government security forces and the various rebel groups are engaged in open warfare in many rural and urban areas. It is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to be a foreigner in Syria, as the line of control between rebel and government forces could be just a matter of city blocks, and anyone out in the open is at risk of being killed by either side.
sounds like a nice place for a vacation

The Aleppo one actually says the safest area is (neutral) Kurdish controlled
>>
>>79072249
>Aleppo in particular has been the center of much intense fighting between government in opposition forces and is not safe for anyone, much less tourists. The city is currently under mixed control between a variety of different rebel groups, and government forces, and aerial bombardment occurs hourly on rebel-held districts. Almost all of the city is incredibly dangerous, with the most safe area being Sheikh Maqsoud, a neighborhood controlled by neutral Kurdish militia. But not even this neighborhood is safe for travel as it's been the target of recent chemical attacks by rebel forces. The best advice for travelling to Syria is to not travel there at all until the conflict is clearly over.
except for those pesky chemical attacks

I've never really been in one of these threads, can someone tell me how the fight is going? Does ISIS still control large parts of Syria, what about the rebels? What is the prognosis if events continue to go the way they're now going (heard Syria is gaining on everyone)?
>>
>>79072087
nah. To secure the road they need to take at least hraytan or handarat camp, both won't fall easily. The rebels know exactly how important that small corridor is and urban warfare is hell. It won't be easy to close it, and i doubt they'll manage it in the close future. I hope i'm wrong.

But holding the captured mallah farms area and thus imposing even more severe fire control upon the road would be bad enough for the rebels. Just imagine every supply truck trying to make it through there having to play russian roulette with artillery aimed at him.

>Does ISIS still control large parts of Syria
Yes, few population centers tho, mainly desert.

>what about the rebels?
Lost a lot of ground in the past ~6 months, still hold some major population centers. Not really able to launch large scale offensives anymore.

>What is the prognosis if events continue to go the way they're now going (heard Syria is gaining on everyone)?
If it keeps going on like it did in the past few months the government forces will fully regain control over syria sooner or later, minus probably the areas held by the kurds, we'll have to see how that plays out. It's just a question of time and how high the price will be in casualties.
>>
>>79072249
Well youre right but we all know people would travel through government area to get there, not through rebel areas.

>>79072994
ISIS still controls a pretty large area of eastern Syria, though with Manbij falling, the only big city they control is Raqqa. only Tabqah and al-Bab are somewhat bigger cities, the rest is desert and shitty towns. They do however still hold a bunch of oil/gas-fields, so they have income

Rebel pockets like East Ghouta, Darayya and Zabadani will eventually fall. Hama and Daraa will take more effort, Idlib will take a lot more effort.

Having fire control is putting the city under siege. The saa does not need to use the road. They just need to effectivly cut it. Yes urban warfare is hell, but much less if the opposition runsnout if ammunition.
>>
>>79074024
they already should have had firecontrol over the road, the distance from both west and south shouldn't be a problem for modern artillery. But if they hold the mallah farms area it'll become a whole lot easier.

Due to the terrain they had long range artillery range on it, but now they have direct fire control. Thats completly different and enables a lot more firepower.

> Yes, few population centers tho, mainly desert.
thank god that people actually acknowledges that
>>
>>79074382
they'll find means to prevent that. In damascus they dug really deep trenches around rebel pockets for example. Besides that the amount of supplies you can get through a shitty tunnel is way smaller than what you can get in with trucks.
>>
>>79074376
What is that thing actually?
>>
>>79074382
Do you know how much ammunition is required to smughle enough to hold them combat effective? As well as food, water, medical supplies, weaponry, manpower, etc?
thats impossible to sustain via tunnels.
>>

i'm sure they'll let food and water in, they already do that for almost all other pockets

We will see. The aleppo pocket is far more resilent than ghouta or comparable and far harder to caputre. I could imagine them denying that, but allowing people to move out of it as idlib is a far easier target.

Throughout the fiasco of the Pentagon’s $500 million effort to train and equip a force of Syrian rebels to take on the Islamic State, one small group endured.

There they have remained, holding their ground without deserting, defecting or getting kidnapped, unlike many of the other similarly trained rebels whose mishaps prompted the temporary suspension of the program last year.

That and giving away equipment they don't need. There is nothing particularly needed to be tested on troop carierLike there is no reason to have Vystrels, Lynxes, and Tigrs all together if they all do the same job. Maintenance and training gets very expensive and complicated when it does. It makes no sense to throw away a working vehicle so they are given away to allies.
