Yes, but the movie doesn't portray Germans as evil Nazis. They're just soldiers. Soldiers just like the Americans in the film. The difference is the American soldiers don't really want to be there and they're just fighting to go home. The German soldiers are fighting for their country. You can see it when they capture the first German and let him go. He goes right back to fighting for his country.
