A second EU referendum is extremely unlikely.

The logistics alone would be a nightmare and the backlash at the govt for ignoring the first one would probably mean that more people would vote to leave.

People don't like being treated like children.

Cameron fucked them by resigning and leaving article 50 to his predecessor. Whoever gets the next PM role will either ignore the will of the people and be fucked or leave the EU and watch the UK disintegrate with Scotland leaving and all the money wasted on re drafting the entire legislature to depart.

>second EU referendum is extremely unlikely
A second referendum on anything is unlikely (outside scotland) now we've shown the government we can't be trusted to vote the way they want.

If there is a second referendum Remain will win because since the Leave vote all the higher ups, PM and MPs have been scaremongering rather than getting a plan together to deal with Brexit.

A good government would have had a plan in place for both outcomes of the vote, our current government were so sure that they would get a Remain win they didn't plan anything except for Cameron to bend over for the EU and let them take charge, when things went the other way they all collectivly shat themselves and began slinging shit over Leave.

Reminder that the EU quietly passed rules about an immigration visa for free travel to all 28 member countries 4 hours before voting ended because they knew 2 things.

>They all thought their tactics had won them a Remain vote.
>They knew that if they went public with their plan and announced the rule changes before the Vote then it would show that the Leave campaign was right and the EU didn't give a fuck.

TL:DR EU sneaking shit under the table to fuck us, our government takes it rather than preparing for the outcome.

the first Referendum caused the GBP to drop 12% and Remain made out like it was the end of the world.

A second Referendum will devalue the GBP for good and then the EU can force the UK to accept the Euro, and any other polocies they want and then the Remain voters will most likely throw a bitch fit about the sudden stripping of the UK's power.

Either way Remain voters will never be pleased.

A 2nd referendum isn't needed, I'd place money against us actually leaving at this point. >>78905924 Australia is right and no one in the Conservative leadership has the willpower to start the exit.

>Cameron fucked them by resigning and leaving article 50 to his predecessor.
Exactly when he actually had to make a decision and do some work he fucked off like a child.

>Whoever gets the next PM role will either ignore the will of the people and be fucked or leave the EU and watch the UK disintegrate with Scotland leaving and all the money wasted on re drafting the entire legislature to depart.

Exactly the next PM is fucked they can either piss off 51.9% of people and show that they don't care what their voters want or 48.1% of the people and the EU, Cameron left the next guy to take the bullet.

Funny how the Leave campaigners are all backing away on promises made.
Fact is none of them were in positions to enact the promises when leave got up.
So essentially you've got a reluctant government unwilling to act according to the people.
The next PM whoever that is will be some poor poisoned chalice cunt. They'll have so much expected of them and the general public hate personal pain for long term gain so they'll be vilified and attacked for everything they do.
>>
>>78906632
Its from some music video maybe foofighters?
>>
>>78906506
Exactly they asked what the people wanted, didn't get the answer they wanted then began saying things after the fact to sway people by telling them everything is going to be bad etc, and now nobody will enact 50 due to fear.
>>
>>78906707
>Fact is none of them were in positions to enact the promises when leave got up.
No-one with half a brain was under any illusions that they were. This is just the left being totally disingenuous in order to gain some cheap points.

George Osborne however was, and is, in such a position, and he said last week that he had no plan in case of Brexit, which shows absolute incompetence from our leadership, regardless of their stance on the referendum.

>Funny how the Leave campaigners are all backing away on promises made.

point out one "promise" they made that they're backing out from. last i checked the leave campaign said one thing, then the voters interpreted it how they wanted to, in a way that was not stated by the leave campaign. that is the fault of the voters, who should have paid more attention to what they were voting for. of course if only facts were important in this referendum leave would have won by an even larger majority, because the decision to stay in the EU isn't one that could be made by anyone who can think more than a few months into the future.

Do you think had we had a Labour government instead of a Tory one like we do now then it would've been a Remain victory? I feel like a lot of this is just payback for what Thatcher did to the places that heavily voted Leave like in Wales and northern England

Brits don't need a 2nd referendum, they need a 2nd amendment.

Diversion of the £350m to the EU to the NHS. - Farage said it was a mistake.
Freedom of movement re workers - Johnson states that will have to stay to get access to the EU trading market

A 2nd ref would result in the remain vote winning comfortably. It's too risky.

>>78907680
Farage never once claimed that 350m would go to the NHS. The official leave campaign said it COULD go to it. It was a suggestion

It would be the ultimate fuck you towards democracy and the ultimate surrender to the EU.

It would demonstrate that the UK is too weak to stand behind its own decisions and that the EU can get away with anything.

That settles it, we need the one man that we know is able to take that for the good of his country.

Remain would likely win the second referendum, whether by scare tactics, the stock market stunt they pulled, or by straight-up cheating using said stock market stunt as a narrative cover.
