The movie was NOT supposed to come out at all desu. It was so hated it was cancelled in post production and left to die in archives until someone leaked it.
The budget and movie was pulled in post which is why many scenes that should have been finished with more detail werent like the presidential motorcade was supposed to have a background put in and all that instead its just empty if you watch it. Pretty fucked up thing to do to Mike Judge but there was nothing he could do about it.

Maybe it's a good film, but this is like covers of songs or inconsistency of superhero powers in films compare to comic books. They take an established power team made out of men and turn it into females who want to be men. It's a really bad cover. They are changing more things than cartoons do. It's like i take original tom and jerry, transform it into new tom and jerry, which happened, but was much less good, but what if i took original tom and jerry and turn tom into man and jerry into a cat, that's what this is.
Adding vs. changing, big difference. Even if they introduced new cast by old cast in some intermediary film, it's still too big of a jump. You don't take pop group and make them into techno overnight and expect fans to be happy. They should cut out the name Ghostbusters and call it Cuntbusters, i mean literally.

Good news is sony has been in talks over Reitman who is legendary in the film industry about their treatment of him freezing him out of ghostbusters which was pretty stupid. So far there are talks for more GB content coming to smooth things out with reitman and give audiences what we wanted a ghostbusters universe. So far though there is just a cartoon planned set in the future I think 2050 so not to far future, with the hope of a real life movie that bridges the two together building off this current film to create the worldwide franchises to make all kinds of crazy stories.

Thats not entirely true, all the actors and crew involved had to sign NDA's which stipulate that if they talk about the movie they wont say anything negative. As far as Bill being present at interviews that is usually with the cast and seems hes more supporting them as fellow actors, also more importantly keep in mind Murray does have a financial stake in the movie since he gets a percentage from the original at least not sure if that carried over to this one but doubt it since he wasnt a creative influence technically in either at least in a writing capacity not saying he didnt contribute though which he obviously did.

Kamacho was just a side character, he was barely the 4th most important character in the movie. It could have been anything else, like a Latina, and it would have made absolutely no difference. Terry Crews at the time was (and still is) a relevant C list celebrity who probably had to audition for the part and got it on his merits.
On the other hand, the Ghostbusters crew is 2 D-list celebrities and 2 literal nobodies. The only person who might have even had to audition (though I still doubt it) was Melissa McCarthy because the other 3 were guaranteed parts due to their connections with SNL. Not only were they shoehorned into the parts, but it's pretty obvious that they went out of their way to make it an all female cast, because there are plenty of male actors working with SNL who would have been equally or more qualified to play the parts.
Obviously I haven't seen the Ghostbusters movie, but I'm entirely willing to put money on the fact that they are going to make a point to address the fact that they're all female, even if it's just one off-handed line by some villain or something. That never happened in Idiocracy with Kamacho. His gender nor his race or any other factors about his character were ever addressed at all because it didn't fucking matter; the same can't be said about the female ghostbusters cast, it's pretty obvious the powers that be went way out of their way to make them female.
