I see a lot of anger, hate and irrational fear from what used to be my political party. In fact, it seems like all the propaganda manipulating the conservatives today is based on scaring them into making bad decisions.
The left seem largely absent from /pol/, but when they do appear, they make rational arguments, give a little evidence, show a little compassion.
I have conservative values. I believe in a balanced budget and holding the government Constitutionally accountable.
I also lean liberal on a few social issues, like medical marijuana and getting money out of politics.

So I just changed my voter registration from Republican to No Party. I'll be voting for Sanders or Clinton and every single Democrat I can find on my ballot.

They're mostly split on border control. Some think that ending the incentives to illegally immigrate will end it all together, but they obviously underestimate the jew. Some like Rand support an actual border.

I feel much more informed on foreign issues. /pol/ may be a shitty source of information for many reasons, but it has a much more international view on events than the vast majority of english speaking news sources.

A lot of what /pol/ believes is pseudo-scientific bullshit they believe to be contrarian and edgy. It cannot be understated how utterly retarded people on /pol/ will act for the lulz.

/pol/ got the last election wrong, Harpler got more retarded and more corrupt every term, he promised to balance the budget every term and he lied through his teeth the overwhelming majority of the time. This term he was trying to inflate the Vancouver housing bubble with a home reno tax credit because conservatism is all about taking money from voters, and giving it back in the form of retarded credits that inflate a bubble. Weed is not as insignificant as a deal as /pol/ seems to think, Canada is desperate for new industry and we're getting a rather massive first to market advantage, we will make bank on exports and tourism eventually. I would still like people to take responsibility for their own lives, but have moved to be in favor of tightly controlled borders, punitive tariffs and trade protectionism.
