What he does for Jews and Israel is not dependent whatsoever on his lack of metaphysical beliefs. He is ethnically motivated (even Christopher Hitchens himself said this-- called him a great champion for Israel), and his various pseudo-sheepish apologia for Israel and his desire to put a kosher stamp on criticism of Islam is standard Jewish behavior.
Moreover, he will never lead anyone to a real investigation of origins of Abrahamic religions, because those lead right to Jews and Judaism and Jewish character as the source of the problem.
