I'd say the opposite, it's a great movie that shows the harsh reality of a multicultural nation.
Most movies just say "hurr this character is evil and racists because he is a nazi" however this film shows you just why the protagonist believes that fascism is good, it doesn't paint him as a bad guy for being a nazi, it just shows that he is a flawed human coping with loss.

A real ending would have been if Cameron and Seth's beating was avenged by the crew before the cops had time to warn anyone about the beating they suffered and Derek started writing pro Nazi propaganda and forming a new crew.
After he snubbed his old crew it would not be likely that they would accept him back.
An even more realistic movie would never have had Derek change at all. He would have hardened up majorly in jail. Cameron and Seth would be armed at all times in the black section of town and the black gangsters would leave them alone as a rule because going after inner circle gang members starts of horrific gang wars.
There would also be a few cops who were secretly sympathetic to the pro white cause and the black thugs would be very well aware of this.
