It's mostly just the ease of access and transport. These weapons are available because not too long ago (+-20 years) they were still being used in regions not far from here that we have land connections with. And open borders.

Mostly just because you could (and probably still can, if you've got the connections) drive to the former Yugo states and buy a trunk full of hardware.. It's not so much a matter of selling it all over the world, as driving to certain areas to pick them up. Hells Angels and organisations like that do engage in a bit of trade, but it's mostly a sideshow.. They buy these weapons for protection and to fire RPGs at each other's club houses to make a point. Their main money sources are drugs.
