There are benefits, but the key is that it has to be controlled immigration- not too many people too quickly, and they have to be vetted to keep undesirable elements out, such as criminals and people who just want welfare.
Cultural enrichment is not just a meme- they bring food, customs, and ways of thinking that are unique, but if these completely overwhelm the existing culture, then you're not getting enriched, you're getting raped. Skilled workers and people willing to work hard often will do so for cheaper, people tend to emigrate from less prosperous countries to more prosperous or equally prosperous ones.
