Echo chambers like Facebook/Reddit/pol are driving apart the left and right by creating echo chambers where people build up their seperate nation loyalties.

Interesting that this (((steinberg))) sees the problem and calls out for it to be changed.

JEWS AT IT AGAIN!
>>
Banning the Internet completely from home use is the only thing that would actually solve most degeneracy.

The Jews won't stand for it. They want you here complaining online because the Internet is the ultimate prison
>>
>>78695625
That's not facebooks fault really, that's mostly liberals who attack you if you disagree with them so facebook is filled with nothing but liberal opinions. Though facebook could fix it by permitting anonymous posts.
>>
>>78695625
The jews are not monolithic in thought. It's an unpopular opinion here because it doesn't fit with the nazism meme, but some of them are all right
>>
>>78696294
I agree that liberals have a cult mentality and are unwilling to engage with anyone outside of that cult
>>
90% of social media is millennials who post non-fucking stop. Of course its nearly all degeneracy.
>>
>>78696294
>Though facebook could fix it by permitting anonymous posts.
we all know they wont be anonymous and facebook will keep track of whos saying what.
>>
What a dumb fuck

you just have to go on twitter and search whatever words you want.

>jews
>master race
>>
>>78695625
Filter bubbles exist because that's what people want. If the average liberal does not want to be exposed to opposing opinions. Just look at how willing they are to block any and everyone who disagrees with them on twitter.

The percentage of people who are willing to look at both sides of any issue is depressingly low; people want there to be a clear cut answer, a right vs wrong, good vs evil approach to politics. They don't want to have to think things through.

tl;dr it's not facebooks fault that people want only to associate with one political ideology and isolate themselves from any information that does not support their beliefs. People who want exposure to both sides are a rarity.
>>
>>78696699
Ironic coming from 4chan.

4chan is its own cult. It just has a different dogma that's all about chaos, memes and ponrnography. But it's a cult nonetheless. Note here I'm referring to 4chan, not just /pol/ or right wingers in general.

People who oppose things like memes, anime and cynicism or people who don't like introverts and prefer socialization and normal life are attacked rabidly by all sides on 4chan.

I'm saying this as an introvert autistic myself but it's still true. Get some self awareness
>>
Mentioning the Jews on facebook will literally put you in prison. The kind of conversations that are on /pol/ daily would get people thrown in jail, easily.
>>
Political correctness is largely driving this divide.

There's a Facebook post from a colleague about how Brexit is about making Britain a colonial power again, & how Trump wants to bring segregation back. I want to point out how she's shilling, but that will cost me socially.

Since I can't argue with her, I go to places like /pol/ or r/the_donald or Twitter to read from people with similar political opinions. This echo chamber eventually makes me sympathetic to some extreme political positions that I would not have previously agreed with.

The rise of the far-right and far-left is a result of not being able to point out how stupid some people are. The majority is centrist, but the left calls their positions racist, sexist, etc. So they drift to the far-right.

Can someone kindly explain to me the fuck a bubble filter is?
>>

>>
>>78698011
For example, people that favor bremain only see others who also favor remaining in their news feed. Likewise people who favor Brexit only seeing posts about leaving in their news feed.

basically social media echo chambers driven by the filters facebook has in placed based on what we are likely to like/dislike. Facebook/Google etc know what your political leanings are, and you are unlikely to be exposed to any articles/opinions that go against those beliefs due to their filter methods.

Also has a lot to do with who you friends are, obviously, and in the case of liberals, they strait up remove friends who do not virtue signal the correct opinions.

If he's that deep in the echo chamber on Facebook, it means he never looks at anything that doesn't subscribe to his worldview.

He's not poking around on the internet in odd corners to see what other people are thinking and saying. So Facebook a Google show him things they think he wants to see.

U.S. apparently confuse the Hell out of both of them. Facebook and Google can't figure out if I'm a Trump, Clinton or Sanders supporter, because I look at what people from every camp are saying about them, both for against.

If you're not seeing stuff outside your bubble, it means you've effectively isolated yourself from opposing views. It also means you are dangerously uninformed.

This is basic Sun Zu Art of War stuff.

/pol/ is completely void of speech restriction, its a complete failure of the left to bring reasonable thought and argument to the table that has made it an alt-right hot bed. This just further proves how inept the progressive left is that they have to change the rules of the game in their favor to even have a chance at winning. Hillary supporters are in for a rude awakening.

I agree and guess who pushed the PC agenda?
The left.
While some Kikeservatives did push it too, (trying to ban retard, religious shit, ect), the majority of the push for PC has overwhelmingly come from the left, especially liberals and socialists. This can pretty much be historically proven as a fact, regardless of which political ideology you follow.

Also, I know this feel. I want to speak my mind at work when people start saying they hope trump is killed but I also know if I speak up I will be shunned and possibly kicked out. Same thing happened to me on facebook. I got multiple threats for saying faggot a while ago. And that is why I am in this Shithole because I can speak my mind.
>pic related is me everyday surrounded by lefty scum

For the last fucking time /pol/ is not an echo chamber

The fact most of us generally fall to the right of the political spectrum does not make us an echo chamber, just because you liberals are outnumbered here and on 4chan in general does not make it an echo chamber

You're always free to post and your post won't be deleted and you won't be banned for being a liberal. You being outnumbered (because liberalism is fucking stupid) does not mean this is an echo chamber.

political correctness = a violation against freedom of thought of expression

what happened in brexit is more about liberation, its just go to show are people are so self centered they absolutely cannot stand someone disagreeing with their opinion.

if liberals can bypass democracy freedom is over
>>
/pol/ doesn't ban shitlib opinion, us anons just BTFO of them.

Every other name fagging normalfag site bans dissenting opinion because they can't defend their shitlib insanity.

/pol/ is the farthest place from an echochamber. Fuck off and kill yourself.

but you still have the right and ability to voice all the complaints you want.

just because a lot of people will call you a faggot or a dumbass over it doesn't make it a cult or an echo chamber, you aren't being censored.
>>
Op here, look I don't mean that pol is an echo chamber that bans alternate opinion, if anything we receive the other side of the arguements and BTFO it.

We are however creating our own nation non the less because we are right.

No, all the ironic neo nazi memes caught the attention of actual neo nazi/alt righters, which mixed in with those disenfranchised by SJW culture, creating some weird bastardized culture.

Which is interesting when you realize those who are supporting multiculturalism are actually actively avoiding it online in closed forums.
>>
>>78697127

The filter bubbles are bad on the Left because there is so much cognitive dissonance built into the ideology for those who don't understand the real goals of the Left. Avoidance is the mind's natural defense when threatened with a reconciliation of cognitive dissonance.
>>
>>78697302

/pol/ is willing to engage, they just rip these people new assholes. The Left just shuts down discourse period.

Yeah. I was ironic at first. But now I kind of hate Jews.

Hell, I'm even left of center on most issues.

But the important thing is, as some guy with a Jew flag said... If liberals can bypass democracy freedom is over.

The moment political correctness successfully silences an idea, is the moment we might as well kill ourselves because we are no longer free to think what we will. No matter how abhorrent the idea it seeks to silence is.

Just one time it needs to win. And we are all fucked.

So we hate on niggers and kikes because if we don't, ain't no nigger or kike going to be left that's free either.

The thing that makes PC into PC is when they deny reality & punish people for saying the truth

Some anti-degeneracy stuff among the right is totally different.

Yes it is their fault. They constantly have their thumb on the scale by shadow banning, enforcing phony 'hate speech' rules and manipulating trending topics.

A Jew made a post on facebook pointing out a legitimate societal issue that should be addressed. That means its his fault.

Nobody said the Jews were at fault. (even though they are). Get your eyes checked.

I was merely saying that the antisemitism on here is because we are smart enough to know that as soon as PC thugs successfully kill a single ideology, it is over.

It's not that I hate kikes in real life. It's because if I don't hate them on /pol/ then they are fucked with the rest of us. (except the ones who are jewluminati).
>>
>>78696294
Well these sites do manipulate results based on your profile history. If you're into more right wing stuff you will be shown more right wing stuff.

If you're more into left wing stuff you will be mostly shown left wing stuff. Couple that with innate confirmation bias and you get the reaction we're seeing to Brexit.

Most of these kids have probably never seen an unbiased outlet or a right wing slanted one's version of events. They just get fed the same lefty propaganda that all their friends get with no counterarguments.

Every Leave supporter is a strawman little Englander racist. They don't understand the values on the political right because they've never been exposed to them.
>>
>>78697442
Can confirm, I personally know that dude that was posted about a lot here when he got sent to court for disagreeing with a feminist on twitter.
>>
>>78697302
Anyone can post whatever they want on here. If you like Katy Perry, slut walks and LGBT rights you can post here and your posts won't get deleted.

The difference is censorship. You can say whatever you want. People don't have to listen. It's unfiltered discussion.

What Facebook/Reddit/Twitter etc are doing is trying to control the narrative through top down censorship of oppositional voices. They had been doing this for nearly a decade and nobody was really that aware of it. It has been going on in the media since the media was created, but since few people were journalists and reporters there weren't that many people exposed the inner workings of the system that was trying to shape ideas and language.

Then came Trump.

I don't think people really understand just how much damage Trump has done to the media's control over the narrative.

He effectively whipped them up into a frenzy time and time again. He got them to make bold and radical predictions that were proven wrong over and over and over again.

People can only handle so much cognitive dissonance before they start to ask "Just how much do these journalists actually know? They're wrong about everything. Why are they always wrong? Are they this stupid? Or are they just lying?"
