>t-the youth didn't want to leave *sniff*

THEN WHY DIDN'T THEY VOTE?

You don't stay home, not vote and then whine that the result wasn't in your favor. If you wanted Remain, then you should have VOTED.

Why don't millennial liberals know how to democracy?
>>
>>78682098
Because they are idiots.
>>
>>78682098
Votes should be done over an app on your phone, that way everyone can get a vote in. Make it so you have to sign in with your Instagram account to prevent vote fraud

>Literally what a friend told me yesterday in defense of not voting
>>
This is also why Bernie lost.
>>
Why do younger voters tend to not vote? I mean, all they had to do was draw an X in a box. What was so hard about that? It's not like they were taking a standardized test or anything.
>>
>>78683620
You have to get up before 10 at night, walk to your local church hall and actually interact with other human beans, who are typically elderly volunteers
>>
>>78683620
Cameron was an idiot for setting up the plebiscite that way. He should have had it count only if turnout met some unreachable level.

Oh my...

Here's the sad thing though, this means they'll learn their lesson and show up in droves for every fucking vote now causing leftist bullshit to keep getting passed.

This fucks everything so hard.

They've already forgotten about the vote, and they won't remember the nextr one until it's the day after it happens

Welp, guess you have to wait, that you grow tall inuff to reach the doorhandle, so you can get out and vote.

Because old fucks have nothing better to do since all they do is leech off the government the likes of which would make a NEET blush.

Fuck old people, I hope you fall for the Microsoft tech support scam.
>>
>>78682098
Exact same bullshit happened in Ireland last Feb with our General Elections. Of all my friends, I was one of only 3 that voted. And then when we ended up with no government with a couple of months I ended up listening to all these assholes complain about how their views weren't represented within the largest parties.

I really do hate that people don't become more involved with the political process unless it's to support some extraneous "liberalising" policies. Now that Sinn Fein and AAA-PBP have gotten Water charges repealed they've decided that paying for Bin collection is "unconscionable". And those same friends are going along with it.
>>
>>78684485
They might, as they get older and more cynical, but the kids after them won't. Then the cycle repeats. This is how it's always been.
>>
>>78682098
yep

They'd vote if they could take selfies in the polling station and harrass people that vote differently.

ITS OUR PARENTS FAULT!

The only reason youth predominantly has pro-EU results is that remain junkies are the only ones who bothered to vote.

Has anyone else noticed how absolutely shit the graphic and color designs for political maps have gotten during Brexit? For the first time in my life, it's taking me conscious effort to figure out what the fuck these plots are are trying to convey. How many fucking shades of yellow and blue are there anyway?
>>

turnout was 72%+ - general was only 66%
only way of limiting would have been 60%+ required to leave.. But not holding the fucking thing in the first place may have actually proved 100% reliable.

100% fact

Bernie lost Massachusetts by under 20k votes. There are over 250,000 college students in greater Boston alone.

Millennials literally can't grasp the concept of not being able to use retweets and hashtags to get someone elected. At some point you actually have to get people to leave their dorms or their parents basements to go to a polling site.

Their laziness is one of our biggest hopes for survival.
>>

In Canada we had our Minister of Democratic Institutions suggest that referendums should be conducted via twitter...

>Labour talks about mobilizing the youth vote.
>Labour fails, youths don't vote.
>Remain talks about mobilizing the youth vote.

If your campaign relies on how effective your school based brainwashing is then you are going to fail if you don't frogmarch them down to the polling stations and double check that they have crossed the right box.
>>
>>78682098
>Why don't millennial liberals know how to democracy?

Well, here's the test: First you ask them if they're liberals, they'll say yes. You ask them if they support neoliberalism, they'll answer in the negative. Then you ask them if they support classical liberalism, then you explain to them what classical liberalism is, small government, free trade, private enterprise and they answer in the negative.

Pretty soon it's obvious that they're not actually liberals. They're socialists or marxists.

They've literally done the same thing for the last 4 or 5 elections and referendums

This is a huge issue.

And one that might start effecting /pol/ itself more if cucks enter here.
>>
>>78682098
The media keeps insisting that young people overwhelmingly voted in favor of Remain, but is there actually any proof of this other than the YouGov poll, which was consistently misleading throughout the entire referendum? It seems like the elites are trying to create a vicious generational split with this narrative just like they've split everyone else.

>It seems like the elites are trying to create a vicious generational split with this narrative just like they've split everyone else.
Exactly.

And the reason may be /pol/ itself.

Because they know there is a growing right wing sentiment in the youth.
And they want to divide the youth from that.

most young people simply didn't care. i guarantee you those google results were all from young shitters that hardly even knew there was a referendum.

They confuse Twitter with voting booths.

the
>parents didn't teach me to survive or do taxes

argument is half BS and stupidity and half sadly true. they're incapable of being self sufficient, the education system encourages doing as you're told and learning by following rather than learning or yourself or figuring things out. these people LITERALLY can't figure how to do anything and only know to ask for assistance
alot of college kids can't operate a microwave or do their fucking laundry

yet these people can vote on serious political\ issues

millennials were a mistake

hopefully gen-z is better.

the education system shifted to a "Let kids learn for themselves a bit" in the last few years, which gives me hope. kids even debate stuff in school. I talked to a highschooler that actually debated Pro-Life v Pro-Choice in High School
