Along the northern coast from san francisco on it is very temperate much like BC, lots of rain, no snow. The coast on the way down is mediterranean, 100 degrees a couple times during the summer but generally 40/90 in summer and 30/80 in winter
The Sierra Mountains have lots of 30 feet of snow in the winter and can get below zero at elevation, but during the summer its 40/90
The mojave desert is 40/110 in the summer and 10/100 in winter
