> mfw retards on here say we should be able to have assault rifles because of the Second Amendment

Last time I checked when the Second Amendment was written the only guns that existed were very inaccurate single shot muskets that took 2 minutes to reload.

With modern weaponry it is far easier to commit a mass shooting than the founding fathers could have ever imagined.

Its 2016, times have changed. the laws need to change as well.

Also the second amendment says only "well regulated state militias" have the right to bear arms, not that every single citizen should have the right to own guns.

Prove it shill.

>le only muskets existed!
Nice meme

Louis and Clarke would like to have a word with you

Assault rifles are just semi auto rifles with spoopy scary plastic on them. They are no more deadly with plastic than with wood.

Stop this assault rifle meme
>>
They had fully automatic machine guns even in the 1720s

Bait thread but still, what percentage of mass shootings were inside gun-free zones?
>>
>>78611799
one should have the right and ability to resist their government when it inevitably becomes oppressive. with musket level weapons, one would be helpless to revolt. if you're willing to give up your freedoms for some illusion of safety, you don't deserve freedom.
>>
>>78612092
were they cheap and reliable and accurate?

oh yeah, they were not
>>
It boggles my mind how dullards like you underestimated the intelligence of our founding fathers. You don't think they understood that the amendments would follow the US through time and apply to different situations while still being valid?

>Its 2016, times have changed. the laws need to change as well.

Oh its bait, sorry.
>>
First off, assault rifles are already banned. Look it up. AR15s are not assault rifles. They become deemed assault weapons with certain add ons that is a completely arbitrary definition.

>Last time I checked when the Second Amendment was written the only guns that existed were very inaccurate single shot muskets that took 2 minutes to reload.
Wrong. Learn history.

>With modern weaponry it is far easier to commit a mass shooting than the founding fathers could have ever imagined.
The founding fathers probably never imagined that the country would get so fucked that people feel the need to blow away many people at once. I blame the government.

>Also the second amendment says only "well regulated state militias" have the right to bear arms, not that every single citizen should have the right to own guns.
Actually that's completely wrong.

This is how you sound. Do you seriously think the Founding Fathers didn't foresee greater weapons technology? James Madison said the 2nd amendment should include your right to own a cannon for Christ's sake.

Your daily reminder that there is a system in place for ammending the constitution. No matter how outdated you may personally believe it is, it is stillthe supreme law of the land as long as it has not been legally ammended.

>>
>>78611799
Look, I know this is b8 but all this nonsense about assault rifles etc is subterfuge from the leftist media. They want the gullible idiots on the left to believe they are talking about automatic weapons when the thing being targeted by them is actually a semi-automatic deer rifle dressed about so rednecks can feel that they own something "awesome". It's just a rifle, you have to pull the trigger for every round fired; it isn't automatic.

But they count on mouth breathers like OP to shill and meme for them and spread their trisomic viewpoint out of ignorance and fear.

This is called faggotry and OP is a fine example of it.

>Last time I checked when the Second Amendment was written the only guns that existed were very inaccurate single shot muskets that took 2 minutes to reload.

Some of the Founding Fathers owned warships with cannon capable of levelling the cities of the time, others owned powerful field artillery. Many militiamen owned rifles and preferred them to muskets for their accuracy at long range.

The point of the Second Amendment is for the average citizen to be able to obtain weaponry comparable to the weapons of the military. That is why it mentions the militia and the security of a free state. The militia cannot protect the security of a free state today with muskets.

The American constitution is both a symbol and an example for the entire world. It's probably the most meaningful written document of it's kind and it has existed for a very long time. The fact that guns scare you should not be enough reason to change it. Nothing short of the complete collapse of the USA should be enough to give up your constitution.

Come on burgers.

Ban guns.

No one needs an assault ak-47 shotgun with over 50 clips.

Just look at Latin-America, we cant even have ammo and look at how well we are

It's the internet, it's a modern way of
communicating and it is easier to spread ideas than the founding fathers could have ever imagined.

It's 2016, times have changed. The laws need to change as well.

Not every single citizen should have the right to speak freely.

>very inaccurate
Nope. The Brits quivered in their boots because of rifled muskets sniping their asses from a few hundred yards. There's even a substantiated account of Daniel Boone sniping an officer from ~300 yards. This is the same range at which Army recruits qualify with their M16's.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_rifle
>n 1778 at the siege of Boonesborough, Kentucky, one of the officers of the combined British/Shawnee assault force was hiding behind a tree. He stuck his head out from behind the tree and was instantly killed by a ball to the forehead fired by Daniel Boone, who was known for always firing the same fixed measure load of black powder in his rifle. This shot was later confirmed by witnesses on both sides and the distance measured at 250 yards. Hitting a target so precisely at that range would probably make the "Kentucky" rifle comparable in total effective (long) range with the later British Baker rifle at 300 to 400 yards.

Also, the Supreme Court disagrees with you and their word is, oddly enough, the Law.

Here, have a picture of Simo Hayha. ~500 confirmed kills with a 1890's era 5 shot bolt action.

The second amendment was made for cutizens to overthrow corrupt governments, going by the spirit of the law, in addition to our guns, we should be able to own fully armed tanks, drones, fighter jets, aircraft carriers, anti air missiles, etc... Why do you think we have a second amendment in the first place dumbfuck?
