I voted to stay mate. It seems that economics, actual facts, or the fact that the free movement of people (you know the thing people actually hated) was a condition of the EEC not EU membership. So great job rest of the UK, you've now set it so that as long as we are part of the EEC we cannot vote on EU laws that we will now HAVE to follow. Oh and we still have to pay in to the EEC's membership. Look at Norway, because the only upside for them is the deal where they can ignore Fishing and farming laws the EU passes down. Everything else they have to take and get no say in it.
Fuck it let the last true empire burn. I think I'm going to Canada

Get the fuck over yourself

You're free of having to bail out and prop up shitty European countries, and you're free to make any trade deals that suit UK without having to worry how that will effect Europe

This is a golden opportunity for the economy to be better than ever
>>

>>
>>78577395
what I'm asking is how

what are the next steps? people keep talking about how we have our country back, more freedom, no longer ruled by the EU but nobody has said HOW we're going to become 'great' again because of it.
>>
>>78576566
>or the fact that the free movement of people (you know the thing people actually hated)

I think most of them really hated immigration from third world countries (which is NOT because of the EU or the EEC)

>because the only upside for them is the deal where they can ignore Fishing and farming

Fishing is also way more important to Norway than it ever will be to the UK as a whole (we're a huge exporter). Farming too, because our rugged terrain makes it impossible to have the same "rules" as flat european countries.

...but I think the EU needs a wake up call, so maybe the Brexit is a good thing in the long run

>You're free of having to bail out and prop up shitty European countries
This is a really important thing people seem to be ignoring. Greece's debt problems still haven't been resolved and basically can't without them either leaving the Euro so they can devalue their currency or austeritying so hard the Greek people starve. Much like Greece the various other debt ladened countries like Italy and Spain haven't had their problems really resolved and would be dominoes in the big Eurozone chain of economic failure. The EU was doomed to fail and short term economic losses are a much better outcome for the UK than being tied to the sinking ship as it goes down.
>>
>>78576617
Fuckin kek at all Americans and Canadians posting shit, tf do you know about the EU and the sentiments in Europe anyways. You're just following the meme.

Even a basic economics class would rip your argument apart. Value of currencies rely on trust in trade. Everyone just lost trust and care for trade with Britain. It'll take fuckin years to bounce back from this. Non-British companies are already shuffling away from (prospected) deals with British companies, British corporates feel butthurt and are looking for outs. It's not rocket science. It's not like we all trade in Oil. Now go read a book.

I think you need to figure out what the EU actually covers. Wait and see how the asylum camps at Calais close and they send them all over to the UK, so they can be turned back there. Don't think they won'r. Also the UK is not Norway. We don't have a decent sized fishing or farming industry, we've been cutting from it for decades. Any deal we sign now will be so much worse than any other new country will get and we will still have to abide by EU law because like Norway we're part of the EEC (European Economic Area).

Lmao, the FTSE100 has been slowly growing the past six months and since opening day it's already recovered half of what it's lost.

You're delusional and enjoy in perpetuating a false narrative, with which you appear to rise above the rest, instead of being able to share in the joy of your fellow man.

Neither of you are any better than the Left or the SJW's, which begs the question as to why you bother coming on here at all, other than to fellate yourselves on the misery of others.

My patience is reserved for the shit the EU's about to sling, and I don't have any to spare for the likes of you.

Fuck off and let the rest of us weather the storm.

It was strange atmosphere sitting on the train this morning in London during rush hour. It was eerily quiet. The whole of London practically voting to remain, there was definitely an air of defeat, and severe disappointment. I saw a woman crying on the bus. This truly is evil triumphing over good. And there is definetely a very obvious divide in the country, with the voting ratio almost 50:50. I expect a lot of tension in the next coming years.
Pride in London is tomorrow, so a bit of positivity in such a shocking time. Though, as a volunteer, I am slightly afraid of tensions. But we will stand in solidarity, we will not go down without a fight.

By doing nothing. Anyone who isn't a complete retard will tell you that that a drop in market value was always an inevitable short term outcome from voting Leave because the stock brokers were bound to panic from such an uncertain position being established. The value of GBP is going to flow and ebb as it always does, but it will temporarily be a bit more hectic than usual before it inevitably stabilises again.

I fucking hate this dumb goy argument. Honestly, Jews are all laughing at your lack of financial understanding.

A currency may sometimes be strong and it may sometimes be weak. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

For a UK that wishes to encourage home grown industry and products, a 'weak' pound is preferable, as imported products will be more expensive. You will see imports slump and local products take their place. That sounds pretty positive for the UK.

Still, once the fucking Jews are done panicking all you dumb goyim, the Pound will return to its proper valuation.

What do you mean 'how can you come back from this'?

Why are you such a sensationalist?

The fundamentals that make the pound strong haven't changed a bit. Speculators pulled their money out of the market and the price collapsed. This is great news.

The pound is strong, next week will be even stronger as they release reports about theoretical deals with EU and people get twitchy.

Yes, surely the EU will refuse to do business with one of the largest economies on the planet, out of spite. Did your mother drop you on your head as a child or were you just born retarded? Economies these days are so interconnected, I doubt mainland Europe would be able to survive by refusing to trade with the UK. This would be like America pulling out of NATO, and morons all over the planet screaming "OH GOD NOW WHAT, WE CAN'T TRADE WITH EUROPE" as if multinational companies would suddenly stop shipping goods and services across some meaningless confederation boarder because the lines on the map shifted. Britain traded with Europe before the EU, and it'll continue to trade with Europe after the EU.

>The leave negotiations are to be determined by the Council of Europe

Even if the technical legislative/decisive power rests with the Council, it is rendered less effective by the fact that the UK is free to reject their terms and still leave the Union. The size of the British economy coupled with the fact that other European nations rely on Britain as a trading partner give the UK major bargaining points at the table.

It is not as one-sided as it seems.

>Freedom of movement for EU migrants remains

This was the main reason for the Brexit in the first place. It us unlikely that this will remain. Remember, you are viewing this through the lens of seeing the UK as a European nation that needs to remain part of the EU market, sort of like Norway. However, they do not need to have that kind of connection to trade with the EU.

It is my understanding that the EU trades with the United States and China quite readily.... and yet there is no migrant requirement?

Why should Britain have to have a migrant requirement? Protip: They don't.

Refusing Britain their desires means the crippling on your own economies as well. You would be cutting off your nose to spite your face, which would be fucking bonkers. The truth is that Britain has massive bargaining power, and the only reason we are seeing the EU flex its "we aren't negotiating muscles" is because they want to frighten other EU nations from considering an exit also.

So, no, Britain does not hold all of the cards here, but they hold enough to achieve their ends.

Croatia I'm going to be patient with you because I know you guys are too poor to get a proper education. Let's start with some basics. Governments do not trade, companies do. All governments do is put up barriers, tariffs, and regulations. These things make trade more expensive. Generally, the more government you remove, the fewer barriers to trade there are, and the cheaper trade gets. The EU was a lot of government, and now that Britain has removed it, there will be fewer tariffs, and goods will be cheaper.

I'd like to discuss rights but to be frank even I'm astounded as to how you somehow conflated rights with trading.

Wishful thinking.

You want to punish the UK. Okay, so we can establish free trade with the UK. Trump would definitely leverage that heavily in our favour, but even if not:

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jun/24/brexit-vote-impact-on-us-donald-trump-election-2016

Obama Administration even like us still. Even Hillary would be cool with us.

China and India are keen to establish trade with us. And we don't actually export that much to Europe at all.

Meanwhile, we own the channel, and have an active navy. You try and fuck us, enjoy that.

You don't really want to trigger a war when we'd have the backing of the US and Russia, and better yet..

You signed the treaty of nuclear non-proliferation. The US, UK and Russia all have active nuclear schemes.

The UK has the most military spending of any country in the EU. Have fun having that completely withdrawn and used against you.

We have the second biggest economy in the UK.

And if you punish us, you will as a biproduct punish the Dutch. Which means Nexit. At that point, you risk Swexit.

And besides, where did a lot of this dissent come from? Immigration. Which other big countries who you really don't want to leave would dislike immigration?

Let's see, who is housing a refugee camp in Calais and had their capital shot up last year by immigrants? Merkel called a summit for Monday to talk about bringing more states into the EU. LOL. Completely out of touch!

Once you have a Frexit the entire EU will fall and Germany will be nothing. You can push it forward by punishing us and it will happen, or you can not punish us, and when we thrive others will follow.

RIP EU.

We lose Scotland, Scotland has only 9 million people and its GDP is less than London, they are dead weight, they have some oil. Oil is down, and oil is not an investment for the future. We are better off without Scotland, you can keep them.

Our economy is supposed to be tanking. Uhh, what, FTSE is down 3%. DE 6%, JP 9%, IT 13%, ES 16%.

>>78586725
actually I have a company for consulting and market research but I deal with Asians who want to do business here or see what are the requirements for selling their products in the EU.

Lets say a example that is very simple would be if some Japanese company wants to sell their food products in the EU.

For each product no matter how small the difference is you have to do a test to analyze the product if its ok with the minimum EU requirements.

You can do that in any EU country and after you get the papers that they are ok you are free to sell your product to any company in the EU without doing any paper work.

Now if the same Japanese guy wants to sell his product to the UK he will have to do the whole process again and fulfill the UK requirements that can be often much more different then the EU one, but the biggest problem in this case is it costs so much money to do this stupid test.

Last Month I had a job with a car navigation system from china to sell in the EU so I had to do some research on that because we had some big changes in the last few years with it, but funny fact in Saudi Arabia the data in the car navigation system should have nothing that insults Allah or islam or you cant sell it over there.

There was always going to be some bumps at the beginning, change always causes these things and this was a big change. Anyone who didn't see this coming or thinks this is the end of the world is a moron. It will bounce back in no time.

Germany is, but that's the entire point. The EU is Germany's little plaything and the UK were one of the only things stopping them from just doing what they like.

You think France and Italy want to be relegated to "Germany's bitches"? Migrant dumping grounds?

Once they're out that's all it'll be. Germany will be a place for all the 3rd world shithole EU countries to flock to.

I'm not saying it's definitely going to happen, but this could be the beginning of the end of the EU, and hence Germany's power source.

That's why all the Krouts are so butthurt and rabid up and down the boards over this. We've defied their empire and now they want our blood. But it ain't gonna happen. You make us an enemy, it's your blood getting spilt in hypersonic nuclear scramjet holocaust before you can even strike, welcome to the 21st century. You've signed a bit of paper that says you can't make new nukes, meanwhile our alliance's lovely low orbital drop missiles and scramjets in 2 years will be able to decimate any capitol city before it can even detect. There would be no 2 minute warning.

And, again, as soon as you start dicking us, that's when our navy starts being vigilant in our waters. You really don't want to give us an itchy trigger finger and easy triggers.

Either way, in terms of business lol, I run an SME that trades software. Almost all of my income is in USD, YEN and EUR, and all my outgoing costs are in GBP. I personally would benefit greatly from our economy weakening. I'm fine either way. The UK software industry is huge and it's barely going to feel this.

Yes surely turning half of Europe into third world countries just to spite Britain is a great idea for the EU's survival.

Our best scientists are working hard to decipher and uncover the mysteries of these strange ramblings.

So far they have made only little progress.

Currency also isn't suppose to be based on the projections of over-glorified gamblers betting on results to nickel and dime profit off of the initial value.
But yet here we are.

lol, UK has been heavily investing in software and video games for months. Minor setback for these industries, we have great tax incentives and grants/funding schemes for hiring people within the country.

In other words, costs are almost entirely in £ and income in $/€.

It kind of is, the markets determine the value. Investors backed the wrong result and the GBP crashed, it's recovering. No big deal.
