I came to a different conclusion throughout my study of history and historiography in college, that greed is an inescapable aspect of humanity and it's not a detriment. People need a society with incentives and the possibly for impossible to reach incentives, I don't think any form of communism would fulfill that inherent need. There's a reason many historians moved away from Marxist theory in history a long time ago.

I would be considered liberal by the conservatives today. I would be considered conservative by the liberals today. Yet I am not moderate. I have only changed in my degree of what is going on with the world. I still hate corruption, and I see that it is far more prevalent both than it used to be and than I thought it was. I still think that you should use force against those who would first initiate it against you. I don't disagree with the idea that a couple of guys who have some disagreement that can't be solved by sitting down and talking about it should be allowed to go behind the building and duke it out if they want. I also don't care who sucks who's dick. Just don't tell me about it.

>Although I think all this globalist shit and how the banks fucked the world economy in 2008 has shaken my faith in free markets though. There has to be a reasonable balance between government regulations and economic freedom.

KEK, you think we have free markets? Holy fuck, we've had a centrally planned economy for quite a while now. Last year alone, the federal government promulgated over 80,000 pages of regulations. WTF are they? I ain't reading 80,000 pages to find out, but they carry the force of law. Go start a small business. You'll either find that you have found a very small niche, or that there are very costly regulations that are tough for you to follow, yet the big boys who own our congress and regulators can afford to ignore. None of us alive have experienced anything close to laissez faire capitalism.

Not really. Government is a tool, not a blood thirsty monster, or what ever conservatives think it is. If people want a more responsible government, maybe don't elect people like Trump or Clinton.
Our government isn't in bed with global financial agencies, just individuals.

Yep, I too believed in unified world where we are all truly nice and equal, that media were not lying because somebody would discover it since there are billions of people, that pharmaceuticals do what theyre meant to otherwise some of the billions of people would find out and all that shit.
Then I discovered media and government lies, especially about pharmaceuticals.
Then I discovered that equality doesn't mean uplifting inferior people to our level, it means having gun put up to head and being forced to take care of those who cannot take care of themselves at YOUR expense, if you complain you're suddenly racist xenophobe, not equal.
Then I discovered history is not accurate collection of past events but diary of winners.

Now I want to be left alone, if you want to be all equal and shit do it on some island or somewhere where I'm not forced into it, it's just fucking facade to keep us weak.

Clinton is a sure criminal corporate shill. I don't know WTF to think about Trump. But you're forgetting congress, which is bought and paid for, through and through. If you didn't outgrow your parents' views, you weren't raised right. Education (I'm not talking about school, but education in general) is about overcoming the prejudices of your parents. If you grow up and have the same views as your dad, you're probably not doing much thinking.

We used to be labeled a bunch of crazy leftist anarchists for doing the same shit we do today. I'm certainly not saying there isn't corruption or back door dealings in the government. Certainly that is the case.

I just think people oversimplify and vilify government. Government is a tool, like a gun or car. In order for iy to do anything, there needs to be people operating it. In the case of this analogy it would be the American people behind the cars wheel or gun's trigger. If a car crashes or a gun shoots a bullet, it's not the fault or the gun or car but a result of who is behind the wheel or trigger.

If conservatives or liberals dislike the government or way it's operating, it's their(and every Americans) own fault.

Conservative politicians have crashed the car just as much, if not more than liberals.

I was liberal before I knew what it entailed.

>tfw voted for Obama
>twice

Even though my political opinions have changed over time, I still don't know if I could have brought myself to vote for Romney or McCain; Romney being and android and therefore ineligible to become President in the first place, and McCain choosing the exact on-the-nose absolutely WROOOOOONG person as his VP to represent his platform and his party.

I feel that is the true tragedy of the McCain campaign. I, for one, probably would have voted for him, had he chosen literally ANY BODY ELSE as his Vice President. Palin is a dumb conservative stereotype come to life. How anybody thought that was a good idea is beyond me. Clearly one of three, or maybe a confluence of these factors played a role:

>1. McCain was/is senile and let his idiotic handlers choose for him
>2. McCain was/is a horny old man that let his dick do the thinking and it cost him everything
>3. McCain was actually turned by his time spent in captivity. He was given orders to return home from prison in Vietnam, become a politician, run for President of the United States as a conservative Republican, and ultimately take a dive in order for Obama's liberal Democrats to take power
>>

I was raised in a pretty conservative house. But my parents were rather open and encouraged "exploration" so to speak. Up until I was 14, I was pretty liberal.
My parents are also pretty rich, so most people we knew were also liberal leaning. When I was 15 and going onto High School, my father put me in a public school instead of a private school because he wanted me to know what normal people are like, and not the filthy rich.
That was when I became pretty conservative. I had to deal with a lot of shit back then which made me pretty angry. And only made me even more conservative in return.

After I graduated I slowly stopped caring about both sides. I'm still conservative leaning, but I don't care as much anymore. I mostly only come to /pol/ because I hate mass media, and /pol/ is also pretty funny.

I was a radical liberal communist as recently as 2010, mostly because I went to an Ivy League for a liberal arts degree and got pink pilled by narrative deluge.

I was always a *bit* too edgy for my colleagues, though. Later, I'd come to basically realize that fascism is more or less intellectually and philosophically not only rigorous, but correct.

At this point, I'd vote for Adolf Hitler.

I see this as normal, but not something to be proud of.

It's usually the mindset of someone who worked himself to the bone and made a lot of deals and compromises to get a low-mid six figurish job, and now has the burden of a miserable misspent youth, a heavy debt burden, a heavy tax burden, and a bunch of nosy connections who control his life.

That's 3 different camps you have there. Especially that third one.
Only ancaps advocate for the free market no matter what.
Most people are open to compromise if there are real issues like monopolies.

>>78475052
>I can't read a graph
You're really dumb for being in your 30s on /pol/, try a statistics course. Have you ever seen one of the race debate threads?
Even "culture" is a better argument. Poverty has been debunked so badly it's hard to believe someone here would mention it unironically.

And what do you feel about "diversity"? How about the liberal professor Putnam's findings that people get less motivated and life degrades for everyone in diverse neighborhoods?
>>
>>78463063
That's the way it tends to go. People are generally liberal when they're children, and haven't really lived in the real world (no, college doesn't count), and grow more conservative when they actually get out there. The exceptions are the ones who move to hugbox cities like San Francisco or Chicago.
>>
>>78463063
Yeah, I became a nationalist at 15 after a short sos-dem phase.

Was a liberal like my parents.... joined the military... now I'm out and I'd say I'm still a liberal, but much more supportive of conservatives, especially when it comes to guns and fighting against the regressive cucked liberals I'm seeing on college campuses.

I've got an aunt and uncle who have lived in Chicago for pretty much my entire life (about 30 years), and they finally got fed up, and just moved to Texas this month. I think the Trump rally chimpout was the final straw. I've always considered them my second set of parents, and am honestly considering following them down there.

Any political stance held inflexibly is a sign of spiritual malaise.

I was never that political. I was generally liberal-minded in my teens and 20s. I gained understanding about the world abd humanity and these days I'm against some of the degeneracy of today's "tolerant" trends.

I also became Christian gradually from my early 30s onwards, whereas around ages 18-20 I recall being particularly "lel religious fairytales" and later just disinterested. Some of my present views are ultra-conservative from the point of view of secular society. On the other hand, some of my views could be said to be radically openminded in a religious context, although not on the subjects seculars militate about (like demanding same-sex marriage, female priests etc.).

Making a political side your temple is absolutely degenerate.

I was at that rally, and I really don't blame you or your family for wanting to move. This city is fucked. I saw Mexican flags everywhere, police pushed and hit. Trump supporters harassed and their signs torn. Rioting. Extremely anti-American propaganda from BLM and Berniebros on loudspeakers. I was undecided at that time, and it really pushed me towards Trump a lot. I've never been so disgusted with the people in this City.

If your opinions ever do a complete 180 like that, it honestly just says you're an idiot. You were an idiot leftist who couldn't reasonably articulate why he's a leftist, and now you're a conservative who's opposed to the idiotic, strawman-like parody of leftism which is the only version of leftism that he ever knew.
We have people just like you here, only the other way around. Born-again conservatives. They're idiots, too.

Why? What changed? Do you think he stopped being an idiot by reading some libertarian kikebook pages?
His new views on libertarianism are just as moronic as his old views on leftism, and his opposition to leftism is based on the assumption that all leftists are as idiotic as him, just because he doesn't know any better.
>>
>>78480513

If you ever do a complete 180, your opinions are worthless and you will forever be an idiot.

I was not really a political person before any of the recent political shenanigans. As I noted, politics impeded on my daily life and eventually drug me into the fray. I had general liberal ideals from school 'education' and from the common held beliefs of those around me. I jumped around a lot over the past few years because I didn't know jack shit about how the world works, or how politics works, and have eventually landed on a solid position now that I've educated myself. This is something many people go through when they get into politics. But then again, you're just another kike that gets off being condescending to people by standing on your high-horse. And you wonder why there are so many people that want your ilk gassed.
