As the country became more multicultural, it became more powerful and the became the sole superpower on Earth. Germany, while despite always having a sound economy, has become a large economic power after it's unification and the beginning of multiculturalism. Multiculturalism here in Canada pretty much began with Canada, and here that was the start of a prosperous era (us becoming the largest trading partners in the world with the US), don't get me started on Scandinavian countries, etc.
