Now, if your tax rates are like 80% and totally stifling economic activity, then yes, cutting them would actually increase revenue. But if taxes are, say, 1%, doubling them to 2% would not REDUCE revenue. No, it would INCREASE revenue. As the rate schedule currently stands, cutting taxes from 40% to 30% for the top income earners (which I'm assuming none of you are), would not increase revenue. The taxes just aren't that high. See the Bush administration's tax cuts for proof, which caused a massive loss in revenue. Obama's tax increases raised revenue. Reagan's tax cuts also reduced revenue.
