Our nationalists these days seem to be mainly internationalist in outlook, except for groups like BNP, Britain first etc.
When Scotland and England became Great Britain, Scotland's entire population basically rioted for months. It's only very recently that people had accepted being part of the UK. A feeling of "British ness" is the exception, not the norm.
