For the first time in my life, at age 22, I've voted on something that actually matters. More than trying to vote on whichever politician is less corrupt, more than which broken ideology to follow.
This matters because we're voting to between freedom and slavery.
We have a choice to be the guy who stays at his dead end job because it's what he was told was 'right', the guy who doesn't make waves - or the guy who sets out to make it for himself even though everyone else told him not to.
We absolutely could fall on our own - but no one ever got rich by doing what they were told, playing it safe and sticking it in a dead end job.
That's the reason the SAS motto is "who dares wins", it's the reason we had an empire in the first place.

But it's quite simple. Most banks allow you to just open a stock account, and then they are your broker.
But I would shop around if I were you. I dont know what the British market is like, the Dutch have a lot of very cheap internet brokers that have low fees. Banks are generally more expensive. At my bank broker, I used to pay ~4 euros per transaction of a 1000 euros. Now I have an internet broker and I pays ~0.5 euro. And no holding fees.
As for the business itself, the old adage: buy low, sell high applies. What I did was buy stocks as the markets went down when news about a Brexit gaining a lead came out, and sell a few days after Jo Cox's murder. Because investors figured a Brexit wasnt going to happen now.
But you will need a fair bit of capital, and you sometimes have to hold stocks for a long time to make them profitable, so make sure you can do without that money.
I'd say that if you're investing under 2-5k, its not really worth it. You make the most money due to volume. The margins are always low, so you have to make it on volume.
