Can't be a more based party.

Voting Libs for house because my other options are literally Greens or Lab
>>
My entire family and I voted ALP.

For reasons involving the property market. Labor and Greens are going to go full communist mode on property.
>>
>>78252027
I signed up previously just through their website 2 years ago during the last election as a declaration vote issuing officer. Did a good enough job and then out of the blue they called me up offering 2ic. Once you're in their system you stay on it basically. Very easy to get a job too. No interview needed. Its probably too late now to get one.
>>
>>78251886
yeh I'm pretty flagnorant whoops sorry comrade
Yeh a lot of people are gonna vote minors this election you can see it in the polling.
Personally I actually think the libs have got a better handle on MY mindset (definitely more so than Labour) for where I'm at in the job market etc... But I don't want a fuckin big business free for all so I went minors in the Senate as I'm sure quite a few will. be interesting to see what mix we get, but I'm pretty sure no one party will hold the balance through both houses that's for sure...

Property prices aren't going anywhere, even if they do eventually pop, it's not going to pop like it did in Japan or the United States.

Negative gearing is keep rental costs down right now for all the people who can't afford to buy. At least right now people can rent and save for a house. If you take negative gearing away rents will increase and people will be stuck renting unable to ever save for a deposit.

Also; Greens want to take away pensions from elderly people who are living in million dollar homes so they will be forced to reverse mortgage. I have grand parents on both sides who living million dollar properties and I don't want to lose that future inheritance.

Nah, it's just an easy target. Neg gearing has been around since the 80's. The property market didn't really boom until the 2000's.
>>
>>78253402
Yeah she has got s lot of publicity this time around and seems to be running a pretty good campaign.

>>
>>78255057
My understanding of the aged pension is that income tax rates were increased significantly to cover them i.e. pay more tax while working, get a pension when you retire. After that happened, a following government put all of that money into consolidated revenue, so we lost that and now have superannuation i.e. we're paying for our "pension" twice, but only getting it once.
So, I basically just don't trust the government to not simply acquire everyone's super for some "emergency fiscal response"

He's ok. He's not a stiff politician like I imagine Shorten or Gillard to be, but not completely someone you can have a beer with (like Keating). You can tell 10000% that he grew up rich.

It's a double dissolution, so it's an election for both houses. Basically, whatever happens in the lower house won't matter too much because it's a two party system and both parties are globalist shits, however, there could be some interesting changes in the upper house, where there are a few decent parties. We don't have anyone as good as Farage, though.

You can apply for a postal vote, or just go to a pre-polling location in your electorate. Google to find them.

You can basically vote just exactly the same as you would on election day, but now.
>>
>>78270978
Menzies was known as "Pig Iron Bob" because he wanted to sell Iron Ore to Japan in the lead up to the war.

That's right m8. You used to have to "make a declaration" that you were unable to vote on election day, but they changed the law and now just turning up to vote early counts as a declaration in itself.
>>

>LNP has never been nationalist

It was going to be called the national progressive party for awhile but Menzies preferred the liberal name.

The parties prior to its formation in the mid to late forties did have nationalist elements to it.

They had an iffy relationship with the issue, particularly when it came to matters of conscription.

Ambulances already cost money to use, and so they should - there needs to be an incentive not to use them frivolously.

We need to go back to free markets, rather than socialism. A 10% flat tax, with massive cuts to most welfare programs, an end to federal government involvement in industrial relations and an end to most other obtrusive federal regulations that do more harm than good.
