But the reason why I think differently is I always hear weird as fuck noises when walking back from Tesco at 12PM/1AM. Tonight, I heard them pretty loud, then when i get home i start seeing flashes. An hour later, they are still there. I've never seen a lightning storm go on for that long, and that many flashes. I'm lucky to see 10, at max. I've seen about 60 of these things

We're still getting lightning here with thunder that's barely audible after 20 seconds or more. Light travels further and faster than sound, so it's normal that sometimes you'll not hear the thunder.

Last summer I remember seeing a bizarre storm where the clouds kept flashing for hours on the horizon, but heard nothing and it didn't rain or anything over me. First time I've ever seen that happen. Usually just turns into a storm overhead or nearby, not that time.

My goodness, it's just a lot of lightening. I was out walking in it (soaked now, how fantastic) and its literally just thunder and lightning. Lots of it, mind you.
Honestly the only bad thing is that I lost data connection on my walk home, and had to pass up this awesome opportunity to walk in heavy rain while listening to music I happen to not have on my device. Would recommend, is quite fun to do.
