You should have not allowed for the discussion to be brought down on personal level and ultimately anecdotal evidence.
To discuss Christianity and Islam as doctrines and political ideologies one does not have to rely on what a Christian or Muslim individual does or does not do.

That's a good idea, but it's not in the Bible specifically. That sounds like something that would be in the Torah, but regarding Jews.
