Most historians agree that Stalin planned to invade europe, they just disagree with Suvorov about the date, they think that USSR wasnt ready for war in 1941 and they wanted to start it in 1942. Anyway Suvorovs theory explains why soviet forces were doing so miserably in defensive war and why they were for no apparent reason grouped right next to the german border. The whole thing was about German land that Poland was occupying, and about uniting the split territory cut off by the occupation. Everything after the initial invasion of Poland was Churchill and the French's fault. They wanted to destroy Germany, and Hitler had no intentions of invading any other countries.

Yeah I always liked Germany too and when the war with Poland was brought up in school I always brought up Danzig and the fact that people are taught from childhood up to believe that the Germans were inherently evil when most were doing their job and the Japanese were much more cruel I was kicked out of the class (repeatedly) for suggesting Germany might have had a real reason for the war. Apparently challenging popular opinion in the late nineties to mid 2000s was wrong and against school rules somehow.
I remember my history teacher yelling at me "You'll believe history the way it's written, get out of my classroom until you learn that!"
