African American Vernacular English (AAVE)—also called African American English (AAE); less precisely Black English, Black Vernacular, Black English Vernacular (BEV), or Black Vernacular English (BVE)—is a variety (dialect, ethnolect and sociolect) of American English, most commonly spoken today by urban working-class and largely bi-dialectal middle-class African Americans.[1] Non-linguists[2] often call it Ebonics (a term that also has other meanings and connotations).
It shares a large portion of its grammar and phonology with the rural dialects of the Southern United States.[3] Several creolists, including William Stewart, John Dillard and John Rickford, argue that AAVE shares enough characteristics with African Creole languages spoken around the world that AAVE itself may be an English-based creole language separate from English;[4][5] however, mainstream linguists maintain that there are no significant parallels,[6][7][8] and that AAVE is, in fact, a demonstrable variety of the English language,[9][10] having features that can be traced back mostly to the nonstandard British English of early settlers in the American South.[11]
As with all linguistic forms, its usage is influenced by age, status, topic and setting. There are many literary uses of AAVE, particularly in African-American literature.

American Blacks are not these magical and creative beings who spawned a new and functional language from the incomplete and unnecessary English language. It's fucking slang and broken English. 4 year old children speak with better diction. It's simply because they are uneducated and to speak clearly and correctly is "trying to be White". Anything positive and beneficial is "White". By their own definition. White liberals champion this idiocy by attempting to attribute some sort of bizarre nobility to not being able to speak proper English, and by tagging this gibberish with some multi-syllabic fancy name so they can all feel special in their great big White Guilt circle jerk. The term AAVE and its normalization through comparing it to other dialects is an attempt to deflect criticism of blacks perpetuating and maintaining an inferior way of speech. We would literally say the same thing about southern podunk "Appalachian" dialects or cockney British dialects. It is inferior not because the speaker is necessarily less intelligent for having that dialect, but because it is indicative of their level of education and prevents them from partaking in the benefits of mainstream society though achieving upward mobility. Normalizing it is essentially saying "we arent capable of bettering ourselves and become more successful culturally, so we will just try to change the general perceptions in our environment to our advantage." Which is and will always be a huge fail.
