I clearly said "they CAN be infinite", i never said universe is infinite, we don't know yet, even though we have calculated many possible different answers. There's already been many research papers published on this subject and many different theories (for example the most backed up right now are string theory, super string theory, many-worlds interpretation, branes). But to undestand them, you'd need at least some kind of basic undestanding of physics, especially in quantum mechanics.
