It's not SAA or Iranian incompetence, it's Russian incompetence. You guys can deny it all you want but much more was expected from Russia. Russia is supposed to be the rival of the US not some regional power that wants to solve a conflict with terrorists by peace negotiations... Brave heroes from the SAA and allies died fighting the Islamists and you call their bravery incompetence? What is Putin waiting for? Is he waiting till the terrorists are bombing Damascus again?

I think it's more Russian playing politics with the US that is getting in the way of things. There was a switch about a month before the ceasefire was initiated and Russia pulled out.

Lattakia was going great, Aleppo was going great.

When they decided to do a ceasefire maybe they underestimated the strength of Nusra and friends, because once they moved the best guys to Palmyra the other fronts suffered for it.

that first week they moved Desert Hawks to Homs and sent new recruits to Lattakia they got slaughtered. Like 18 young guys died. Not to mention how many of the best guys died in Palmyra for nothing. It pisses me off to think about it.

Everyone thought Russia would keep shrugging off the bad press and US demands but they caved and Syria suffered for it. It's up to the Syrian gov to stand up for itself or surrender because right now everything is shit.
>>
>>78049835
You gotta give it to the SAA.
If the same situation was to be applied to other nations many armies would have collapsed. Lebanon for example collapsed far quicker.
>>
>>78050305
It pisses me off as well. If Russia is not going to do what is expected from it then it should leave Syria to its fate because what the Russians are doing right now is just prolonging the bloodshed.

The enemy shows resilience.. but their hopes for lives will soon be broken by a breed of man unmatched to their fearless, they act without the need to see the result of their actions, seeking Allah's pleasure as they advance to kill and be killed, They are the ishtihadi. The most effective weapon of war ever known, for nothing can stand against the weapon of unshakable faith.

Sorry if my post doesn't make sense, what I was trying to say is the ceasefire was stupid and Russia should have kept going as is because they Syrian gov won back a lot of territory and the ceasefire proved there are no moderate rebels they are all affiliated with Nusra. It is best to keep politics in Geneva and let the army do its work.

To think some people here were bitching that Tabqah offensive was TOO SLOW...

If anything it seems to have been too fast and have grossly underestimated the forces ISIS would deploy.

ISIS' statement is clear: We may be losing in Manbij, Fallujah & Sweida, but that doesnt mean you can just approach Raqqa and try to cut off a large area of ISIS control without getting everything thrown at you

Russia came to syria to prevent terrorism from spreading to other locations, like central asia or caucasus.

People that live in syria are not their concern. Of cource it is sad that they die, but it is their fault.

Bloodshed is prolonged by unprofessionalism , weak moral and physical weakness of arab soldiers. Thanks god ISIS is the same. so turkmens, ISIS and al nusra lose

arabs run in panic, they lie (like with captured t-90, that they claimed to be destroyed with granade), they have shitloads of retinues etc.

Iran saves money and undersupplies own shia militia etc.

Assad power is secured, if SAA will not be bale to recapture ISIS areas, then they will be turned into uninhabited desert slowly as every day isis and civilians in "gray" areas die, but rest of syria will remain in better conditions.

muslims, especialy from middle east always blame other people in their failures.

they are inferior in everything

I think if you look into the big picture, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Organization for Islamic Co-operation, want to establish regimes throughout the Middle East, such as they have done in Egypt, via the Arab Spring. It's part of the plan to establish the big caliphate, and Obama has been a great pawn for them.

Either way, we wouldn't be talking if Obama hadn't pulled out. I absolutely despise the man.

2. About that, there were talks of the US supplying gas to Europe. The problem is that Europe currently lacks the infrastructure for Atlantic gas terminals. Those would take around 2-8 years to build, depending on bureaucracy, politics, and funding.
The alternative is to buy gas from Israel, or the Arabs. The EU could save on costs in doing so as it would only need to build underwater pipelines, but that would still take time.

Look at the bigger picture here.

The U.S. Is establishing a global hegemony. Once these oil rich countries are lacking stable governments and are completly fucked up war zones we will basically rule the world.

Already so many countries (see European and Asian countries) are completly dependent on us for security and have to either be our bitch or get invaded by their neighbors.

If the U.S. Withdrew from everywhere at this point it would be global anarchy. We might as well go all the way with this.

It doesn't look like Assad will have the manpower or resolve to conquer the rest of Syria from the three remaining major factions, but he'll have a solid hold on the Syrian heartland for the foreseeable future barring a US/NATO/Saudi intervention, which would occur in the summer/fall of 2017 if it ever does happen.

ISIS will probably exist as at least an insurgency, maybe controlling cities and towns along the Euphrates indefinitely, but they'll continue to be gradually degraded as an organization. They're long past their prime, although they are still cohesive and dangerous.

YPG's best hope is staying under American protection and/or coming to some sort of an agreement with Assad. A major escalation between Turkey and the PKK would probably leave them worse off, but could distract Turkey enough to allow them to quietly develop their protostate.

The rebels will hold on to Idlib, Daraa, and their chunk of Aleppo. I could see them joining with SDF to create a de facto partition of Syria. If Turkey, SA, and the Gulf States decide that Assad's government isn't falling any time soon they'll probably try to freeze the conflict, to be reheated whenever necessary.

Quote from a Russian;

"Ok, so here are the main points, too lazy to do a full translation:
Shortly before 19:00 The Desert Hawks left their positions to be deployed elsewhere.
ISIS attacked 2 hours after I left (about 19:00).
SAA thrown back 15-20 km.
2-3 km into Aleppo province is where the SAA is at right now, in other words in longer in Raqqa province.
Next, ISIS performed a night attack in the vicinity of the "SyriaTel" point. Dozens of ISIS car bombs hit posts with 50-100 people each. "We can talk about hundreds of casualties" is what he said, in addition.
The SAA is trying to hold ground at the "SyriaTel" point.
Currently, the group has ceased to exist as a striking force, and is forced to go full on defensive.
It is unclear if there is an encirclement, and how many people are inside.
(Edit: There is an update at the bottom of the FB post from here: "As of current information on 21/06, there is no encirclement".)
Simultaneous night attack on Palmyra, in which several points and "grain silos" were taken.
We saw a tank shooting at the road to Aleppo from Salamia (?) when we were riding to Assyria. On our way back we were shot at with light arms.
In total, there is a sense that the problems are only just beginning.
He also writes that he can't say more, due to the fact that this is tactical info and could get into the wrong hands.
That is pretty much it."

True! They posted some tanks and trucks but no bodies. If it was such a disaster and they had to run for hteir lives some dead would be left behind. Not even one.

In your imagination?
I understand that if you take Russia you cant just say - hey those guys defeated you.
Because we were always wining side at the end.

So you have to say something like : "Hey chechens killed some of you, before you butchered everysingle one of them and raised a russian banner up their ass"

I thought that he implied that India was keeping China in check which was indirectly helping the United States, I didn't think he meant that India would keep China in check by being a direct US ally

>>78062892
>Isn't China trying to contain you guys by allying with Pakistan and doing some stuff off your southern coast?
Yes, which is why India further improved the relations it had with Russia, Myanmar, Iran and US in hopes of somehow countering China-Pakistan alliance. Main problem is that Pakistan and United States are good allies, an alliance which was cemented especially during the Nixon reign. It was only when Carter became POTUS that India-US relations improved and they were improving on a steady rate up until the Bush reign. When Obama came in, he started focusing more on US-Pakistan relations yet again, a foreign policy that will be continued on if Hillary Clinton gets voted in. Trump has promised to better relations with India to inhibit China-Pak relations and counter Chinese influence in South Asia

>doing some stuff off your southern coast?

To take care of the Chinese influence in the Indian Ocean and South China Sea, India has established and improved its military alliances with South-East Asian countries, namely Australia, Japan, Laos, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam

>India and the U.S. Are the worlds 2 biggest democracies. We should be natural allies.
Whether or not that's true, India would still prefer to be non-aligned
Being non-aligned and neutral has been advantageous to India up until now, geopolitically speaking
Allying with one nation or one singular group of nations would worsen relations with other countries and wouldn't end up good for India

sorry bout late reply

Yeah, these ceasefires were taken on good faith by Russia in the hopes of a clean political solution, but all it did was secure the position of certain groups who then turned all their men over to other groups that didn't sign to continue combat against the SAA.

Refuges are a result of the welfare system in Europe.

They travel al lthe way to sweden for benefits.
They camp near Calais to jump on trucks to get to UK for BENEFITS.

Poland has little ammount of refugees, why?

This is the ebb and flow of battle m8, a high operational tempo cannot be kept up indefinitely, people need rest refit and supplies chains need stabalized. Frankly what they've done in the last few months has been nothing short of breathtaking.

I doubt what they've managed to accomplish will be un done. SAA has had lots of success.

They may be extended to their max now, but Assad's government is secure from collapse.

SAA loses 15km and some checkpoints in the desert and suddenly the war is lost.

It seems you guys weren't here at the Idlib-Jirs al Shougur catastrophe when it looked like the jihadists/turkshits SF were going to conquer all the land between Idlib and Hama and lay siege on Damascus. Sure, things are not looking good right now but let the dust settle (literally) and see how things go.

The cease fire was succesfull. First they bombed all the large objectives. Camps, ammunition post etc.

Than they called in a ceasefire which meant that Humaniterian aid could arrive. Also because of the ceasefire, the SAA could advance onto areas because it needed less soldiers near the cease-fire areas. Also the goal was to dismantle rebel groups, so that they would lay down their weapon and join the politcal talks wtih all the members/factions.

>Hours after losing the Al-Bahariyah Hilltop in the East Ghouta, the Syrian Arab Army’s 102nd Brigade of the Republican Guard, backed by the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) and Hezbollah, recovered all of their lost points from the Islamist rebels of Faylaq Al-Rahman and Jaysh Al-Fustat.

>Following the recapture of Al-Bahariyah Hill, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah overran the Islamist rebel defenses at Al-Bahariyah, capturing the entire village after a violent firefight on Tuesday.

>In addition to capturing Al-Bahariyah, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah also continued their advance at the Jisreen Farms, where they were able to take control of several sites near the Arab Houses.

>The Islamists in the East Ghouta are steadily falling apart, as the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies continue their march through the rebel heartland in eastern Damascus.
