Don't really care if you take northern Syria, but if you start anything against Assad while the civil war there is still raging, then you're burning your bridges, especially since Iran is starting to become allies with you.

Barzani was voted in by Kurds and wants a Kurdish state in Iraq.

The SDF offensive has largely stalled out too and it was spearheaded by US Special Force teams to be completely fair. I think only one Polite Person is known to take part in the Tabqa offensive too.

The SAA also had a very successful offensive resulting in the capture of Palmyra. But that was also spearheaded by Russian Special Forces. All in all, we can see that any offensive that was supposedly conducted by a Middle Eastern army are all farces.

Is this why a Syrian flag is being raised at the helm of this procession and Syrian national anthem is being played before the parastos?
Don't get me wrong,I have no idea why are we so pro kurdish all of a sudden and rooting for ypg to take manbij and so on,but these guys really seem to get that clashing with Syrian goverment is not in their best interest.
As long as SAA controls Deir Ezzor and Qamislo, they have their presence in the northeast.
Russia really needs to step up the carpet bimbing,IRGC is simply cannon fodder, they couldn't even defend Al Eis and it all went downhill from there.
Also, hoholmaps pisses me off to heavens and beyond with their instant update of Al Amaq claims but waiting to register our gains for days.

>>
>>78014678
That goes just as much for non state actors as well. I cannot buy for a second that ISIS was able to capture all that territory back two years ago without any support from a something less than a military superpower (US). The logistics alone of getting some many fighters and equipment there to overwhelm everyone else would have been way too tremendous even for the Saudis and the Turks working together. And the ISIS battle strategy was flawless, something we all know that is impossible for a Middle Eastern army.

Some people go ahead and dismiss me as a conspiracy nut (which I am firmly not) but then again, people who believed that Arab Spring was orchestrated by the US were also regarded as insane until recently.
>>
>>78015419
ISIS has a ton of foreigners in it to begin with. So they were able to get over the Arab incompetence factor.
>>
>>78014074
Not bad mate, fuckin summer heat assraping me, apart from that its okay.
>>
>>78014153
Manbij is surrounded and at this point is just a matter of time. They're like 20km away from Raqqah and it's most likely undefended since ISIS is moving south to push back the SAA. Strategically it's an opportune time to drop down and snatch the city, even if ISIS falling back forces them to withdraw they can capture tons of supplies and rescue thousands upon thousands of civilians while also crushing ISIS morale.

Maybe they don't want to have ISIS' attention? That's the only conclusion I can reach, trying to take such a significant city will make them focus their forces on that faction, evidently enough to push back the SAA when they attempted to encroach on their capital.

>>78015037
I think it's possible to fight when you have proper optics like thermal vision or something or at least googles, but only very few elite and/or foreign elements have that in large enough quantities to make any sort of offensive operation. Maybe cells of US or Russian special forces can continue operating covertly but otherwise no. Aircraft are down too because sand can really fuck up the internal mechanics of the engines and also abrade the surface really bad.

Do you have a comment on the ‘confrontation’ between US F/A-18 planes who flew out and told some Russian SU-34 planes to stop bombing the ‘good’ rebels.

Apparently the SU-34’s stopped bombing then the FA-18’s said “Hey we have to go get some gas, BRB” Then the SU-34’s said, “Da! OK guys!”

And then the SU-34’s went back and re-bombed the ‘good’ rebels again.

I just had an autistic idea.

Imagine a Total War mod set during the Syrian Civil War where everything is the same except set in a medieval fantasy setting.

>Assadist Syria is a Byzantinish republic with arab influences, uses some Assyrian styled units and cataphracts in addition to formations of mail armored infantry with short swords
>"Free" Syria is much more arab in taste, many of their soldiers being former Assadists but with less armor and increased mobility. Greater focus on archers, light cavalry, and foreign units.
>Al Qaeda and ISIS have full blown arabic units, clad in loosely fit black cloaks with fast moving cavalry units with noticeably poor infantry, causing them to rely on mercenaries
>Iraqi army is partially westernized with heavily armored knight/roman units, mixed with foreigners and light arab militias
>Iranian units are based upon Seleucids and Sassanids with an vague arab taste
>Turkish units are obviously based on the Ottomans with noticeably better capability than Syrians and Iraqis
>Russian units are slavic warriors with a mongol influence which are stronger than Turkish units
>Western units are based on crusaders which are slightly stronger than Russian units

I know its autistic but it sounds interesting to think of.
>>
>>78022762
I think I'd prefer a Combat Mission game set in the present.
>all that shitty gear
>magical boxes on tanks
>unit quality is shit, so good tactics and fire support are extremely essential
>A vast array of outdated Soviet and US gear
>poor as fuck artillery support, inaccurate, slow

I heard Russia was making a Syrian war game where you control units.

It is a indie game where you donate stuff, a kickstarter. It would be preddy great.

Also,

A drone game, where you fly a drone and bomb terrorists. Like in COD4 and others as well. But then a whole game based on Syria and Iraq, and 10% of the profit goes to some charity for warvitims or something like that.

Can we MEME it?

المنطقة بشكل عام تشهد هدوءاً منذ مساء الامس ..

Fighting in the North of Al Jaboul would be hard and slow and the units in the Aleppo region certainly are not capable of that. In the South they have the massive advantage of firepower and Russian air support, which can far easier target the opposition in the desert. They are not even part of the same army corps. 3rd has Aleppo and the North, whilst I believe the Southern ones belong to the 1st corps.
I doubt the SAA could have advanced in the North.

>>
>>78033388
I guess ISIS still has some fight left in them. Maybe this will convince the SAA to focus on consolidating ground from the "moderates" and let the Kurds fight the evidently capable ISIS units.

>SAA focuses on Aleppo and Damascus
>ISIS lets off pressure on them to focus on reversing Kurdish gains to the north
>after SAA consolidates their main cities, they launch new offensives at ISIS while they're already focused on a conflict
>Kurds weakened, ISIS weakened, win-win for SAA

ISIS is fizzling out anyway, it's better to let them direct what's left of their forces at the enemy, especially while opposition forces are making gains in your major cities.

So the tigers are in northern aleppo and didn't capitalize on is pulling massive numbers of troops from the front?

>>
>>78034443
This, Rebels first, then ISIS

A two front war is impossible to ifght for the far stretched SAA.

Also, ISIS is too strong as for now. If the Kurds manage to link up the two pockets, ISIS will be weakended. Then the SAA can advance. By the time this is done ( the link up) ISIS will have suffered defeats in Iraq as well.

The SAA want to get to Raqqah before the Kurds because it's a focal point of maintaining rightful hegemony over northeastern Syria, however they don't realize ISIS is defending it like hell anyway so Raqqah isn't in any real danger of going to the Kurds in the first place. If the SAA don't put pressure on ISIS, they won't send their forces their way. Even if they ignore ISIS entirely, they'll probably focus on the Kurds(which is preferable since the Kurds have direct Western backing and support) which would give them air to breathe and consolidate. ISIS can't actually win against the Kurds I don't think but they'd sure as hell try and it's better if your two enemies are throwing everything they've got at each other as you get stronger and get more control of the situation than committing strategic suicide.

Weapons at this point can probably only go to the Kurds. "White helmets" aside, a lot of us are waking up to the fact that what we used to call the FSA is literally Al Qaeda rebranded for the sake of a proxy war.

The election is coming close and Obama can't risk his support tanking by sparking another terrorist supplying controversy since he is supposed to usher in Hillary who our shitty establishment has built up to be his successor. If Hillary wins the election we'll probably invade Assad's territory and ISIS' and balkanize the place in accordance with Israel's wishes. Trump will probably work with Russia to defeat ISIS and bring stability back to the area, build refugee camps and resettlement opportunities or something. At least I hope so, Trump is probably the best option in regards with Syria but I don't think we're going to do anything until whichever president takes office, so until then Russia could send in forces to shape the conflict as they please if they see it fit.

All of the available maps have their own political standing. That's inevitable until we get direct access to SAA/Russian/ISIS intel. And if it makes you feel any better, I do use them all. Truth is always buried in bullshit.

So when is the deadline where Hillary and her cronies get to really start implementing their ideas?

December?

Turkey is still soverign country unlike Syria.
Assadist has 1/3 Syria.
40 years yes and where is k*rdistan?

I'm skeptical that she can even win. She's a horribly flawed candidate.

The inauguration occurs in late January, so February I'd assume it all begins regardless of who wins.
>>
>>78040988
Do Turks just generally support chaos of any kind in Syria since it makes your former colony weaker and less competitive?
>>
>>78041065
>She's a horribly flawed candidate.
Well that goes without saying, but Im afraid your (and heck, even our) general public will be swayed to her side.

Why isnt Trump utilizing the massive amount of incriminating stuff against her more?
Your politics usually seem to involve a lot of dirt-throwing, so might as well?

>The whole conflict is just so dragged out and tiresome that the armies participating are drained of any sort of real organization and capability.

You're giving too much credit to them. If they truly organized and capable at some point in time, then this war would have been over long ago.

Also MANY wars dragged on yet extremely capable fighters. World War 2 proved that. The war kept going on yet the USSR and US soldiers became more competent at the end with their experience and the Germans kept their experience.

In this scenario they apparently become more retarded. Trying to bum rush towards Al Tabqah was insane. At the sametime again, Arabs are shitty fighters. Even the Iraq army made the foolish assumption they'll take Al-Fallujah.

I think he plans on it but the current point in the election is the most boring and noncompetitive. Hillary and Trump both just recently got their nominations and even that won't be official for another month. Plus the debates between the two don't begin until September, so the time between now and then barely matters and I don't think he's going to pull out his massive armory of dirt on her from this early in his campaign.

I feel like you get the feeling that Hillary is doing better because of European media and perception of her, over here she's hated by almost everyone, though so is Trump. General distrust of the government and democratic system over here is at an all time high.

Minor fix, Bahariyah SAA offensive was only partially repelled, despite jihadist zealots cheering on Twitter that it was totally defeated

>Why isnt Trump utilizing the massive amount of incriminating stuff against her more?

Because Trump is an egotistical moron that is too focused on fracturing the GOP and scaring off very some of his biggest support, most notably Newt fucking Gingrich. Second Gingrich says 'Oh that wasn't a good idea' regarding the judge that Trump went after, Trump then goes on a tangent against Gingrich. He's so fixated on his nomination victory when he should placing 100% of his effort denouncing Hilary. The problem though with Trump is that ego can swell to enormous heights and his foreign policy is really vague and shows he has no understanding of the greater scheme of things. He once even admitted he didn't know who the Kurds were. That's a huge red flag.

Make no mistake, I want Trump to win. He's the only credible candidate who's not controlled by lobbyist on a grand scale. That and the biggest reason being that it will cause a tidal wave of nationalist candidates in the future and show the establishment that their time is over.

Raqqa offensive by saa showed us that Russian air force is nowhere near the USAF
>>
>>78042327

>Iraqi "Army" holds 75% of Fallujah

Yet the cost of taking it was heavy. They attempted to drive in and capture it with little effort and then it proceeded to be bogged down inch by inch with heavy causalities.

it also took the US army weeks to take it, also with heavy casualties. Why the hate?

Apparently disputes between Russia and Iran/Syria was that Russia demanded SAA to stick to taking aleppo before advancing to Raqqa, but didn't listen. Guess now SAA should listen.
