Daily reminder that this guy is Benedict's extremely close friend and is the right-hand man of Pope Francis

>In April 2012, the election of a young gay man who was living in a registered same-sex partnership to a pastoral council in Vienna was vetoed by the parish priest. After meeting with the couple, Schönborn reinstated him. He later advised in a homily that priests must apply a pastoral approach that is "neither rigorist nor lax" in counselling Catholics who "don't live according to [God's] master plan".[38]

That's it, it's official, these are the end times folks

RCC has been heretical for a long time, it's not the end times anymore than it is when the CoE started embracing this sort of thing

Maaaan, I'm out.

I'm a Catholic and this whole "wrong is now right" bullshit is driving me nuts. What the fuck is going on.

It's because of Vatican II, where it was declared that dogma can't "change" but it CAN "mature", and that it gets more "mature" over time. Basically applied "current year" to dogma using weasel words.

You can still go to Mass, just ignore the popes degeneracy I guess, he could be the anti pope

Consider that if your Church teaches heresy, it ceases to be the Church, and therefore the sacraments loses validity.

Schönborn wrote the infamous passages in the catholic catechism of 1993 about homosexual, that you should 'treat homosexuals with respect and love'. This was long before the gay thing ever escalated to today's batshit insane levels; these passages contributed to the escalation, because suddenly there was zero critique of homosexuality from the church.

Bishops like Schönborn are the reason traditional catholics get persecuted inside the catholic church today. They get kicked out of seminaries etc.

Read Michael Rose 'Goodbye Good Men', gay networks infiltrated the church in the wake of Vaticanum II and took over as a result of the lax discipline post-V2. They openly have gay parties in the priest seminaries and bully anyone who refuses to participate or criticizes homosexuality.

The problems in Orthodoxy are even greater.

All Christians have been attacked and subverted for the time being, but at least the Catholic Church is the one divinely founded Church guaranteed to prevail.
>>
>>78011934
Take a look at Human Sexuality: New Directions in American Catholic Thought. Not only does it say the stance on homosexuality must be "radically developed" (as in, liberalized), it literally tries to justify bestiality as permissible in some cases.

>The problems in Orthodoxy are even greater.
Orthodox problems: being persecuted
Catholic problems: leadership pushing gay marriage

Yeah, Orthodox problems are "greater" from a certain perspective, but I'd still rather have them.

>but at least the Catholic Church is the one divinely founded Church guaranteed to prevail.
Nah, that would be the Orthodox Church.

There's a pretty big difference lacking a perfect personal life, and using authority in the Church to push heresy. ffs, come on!

also, you lads should calm down.
sooner or later all those old men from the hippie generation are going to die off
the more time removes us from the 1960s and the Council, the more we will see the Council and that generation in light of the whole history of the Church, and be able to get an accurate appraisal of it, rather than extremely exaggerated view of the Council as a "new pentecost" that the generation of the Council had.

As soon as liberal society itself collapses, all the liberal elements in the Church will be thrown away anyhow. For example, if the Socialist governments of the West start to actively persecute the Church, the whole liberal myth of "tolerance" will disappear and the Church will very quickly tread back to pre-liberal notions. Remember that the Catholic Church is wider than just the West; this degeneracy is only really a mark of the Church in western, liberal societies.

Meanwhile they control the seminaries and are making sure their replacements are even more radical.

Which is why they won't do this and opted for taking the Church over from the inside instead.

nah, from what I've heard, the seminaries are less bad than they were a couple of decades ago

what we would benefit from, actually, is an abandoning of seminaries; in the middle ages priestly education was does in universities; seminaries are relatively modern, and the problem with them is that their closed environment means that it easy for them to be corrupted; seminaries aren't as intellectually open as universities. A priest tells me that the current generation of candidates for priesthood are generally a lot more traditional.

these hippies won't control the Church forever, anymore than the degenerate Renaissance clergy controlled the Church forever; they are going to die out and be replaced. Have some faith and patience.

Yes I'm sure there is no nepotism whatsoever and these degenerates don't pick the vilest candidates to sit on the waiting line for their positions...

These aren't fake quotes at all, what are you smoking?

>nah, from what I've heard, the seminaries are less bad than they were a couple of decades ago
Consider that Elizabeth Johnson teaches at a seminary
>"All-male images of God are hierarchical images rooted in the unequal relation between women and men," she writes. "Once women no longer relate to men as patriarchal fathers, lords, and kings in society, these images become religiously inadequate. Instead of evoking the reality of God, they block it."[8]

that's a very selective reading
the same text reminds that homosexuality should be in no case be approved of, and that homosexuals are called to a life of chastity.
