In fact it might actually be the best supercomputer in practical terms, I won't take that away from them (though cheap processors are historically bad at meeting their theoretical cap, so I'm not so confident about that). Except they haven't for almost two decades now, K6 was a clear cut new design that was abysmal, K6-III was designed by a company that AMD bought back then and started the RISC core with a CISC frontend trend, K8 was ahead of Intel's failed Netburst and introduced AMD64, which Intel had to license from AMD
