Anyone find it odd that this country got invaded and the leader got hung under the pretense that they had weapons of mass destruction (nuclear weapons)? Wouldn't they just retaliate by launching nukes at the US or the invading soldiers?

Well, the WMDs they thought were actually biological based and not nukes. I was out there searching for bio-weapons in full mop bullshit. It sucked. They had some facilities that looked like they could make shit but they were either cleared out or abandoned for a while.
However, the point of invading a place with nukes is that those places don't always have the power to send them to us from where they are. So at most, they would have to nuke themselves to hurt us which is a win/win. We haven't actually invaded places that have the potential for long range delivery systems.
I honestly believe we sometimes go in just to make them try to nuke us so we can go real hard on their asses to wipe them out.
