>Why is there a need for an “alt-left”?
The alt-right has succeeded in gaining popularity but has failed in its intentions of moving the Overton window to the right. On the contrary, the alt-rights inclusion of and acceptance towards “cultural libertarians” has moved the window much farther to the left. To counterbalance this, it follows that it would be productive to create a subversive leftist movement that contains the good parts of leftist politics, while also pulling farther to the right.
>Who is the alt-left aimed towards?
The alt-left would be an umbrella term aimed towards the so-called “regressive left”; the Reagan, Blue Dog, Social, or Moderate Democrats, as well as the leftist nationalist sympathizers such as the Free Palestine or Free Tibet movements.
>What is the difference between the alt-right and alt-left?
The alt-left explicitly rejects liberal capitalist ideologies such as libertarianism, anarcho-capitalism on the basis that they are exploitive of both the working class and the planet, neglectful towards the sick and the poor, as well as too individualistic without any emphasis on community. On the other hand, the alt-left explicitly rejects Marxism and atheism as being too materialistic and un-traditional, destructive towards the spiritual health of a community.
>What are the platforms of the alt-left?
A flexible and up for debate list could include the following:
>Pro-Nationalism, opposed to global capitalist hegemony
>Anti-NAFTA, TPP, EU, NAU
>A concern for ecology
>Protectionist trade policies
>A pro-active solution to migrant crisis
>Worker’s rights
>Save Social Security, expand Medicare
>VA reform
>Non-interventionist foreign policy
>Decriminalization of natural drugs
>Pro-tradition
>Universal basic income
>Support for Palestine and any minority group facing Jewish persecution
>Audit the Fed
>Equal rights(including the unborn), anti-Affirmative Action
>Invest in infrastructure
>Pro-2nd amendment
>Anti-crony capitalism in politics
>Secure borders
>Pro-Iran deal
>Tolerance towards traditional Muslim views on women, gays, and Jews
You're not describing the "alt-left" you are describing the "left". The left never changes, they are always the same. Collectivist insects.

Add some sort of Internet regulation/censorship
because "free" Internet is cancer and erodes tradition.
>>77945447
>Pro-tradition
>Pro-Nationalism
Err, no. Tradition is nonsense and nationalism is for fools.
>>77945551
No, OP is actually describing something closer to National Socialism, minus the racialist views used in Germany
OP is describing National Socialism without the racial bits.
Unfortunately for OP , anyone who becomes alt-left ends up being red pilled on race pretty fucking quickly.
Pic related, as racial questions get pushed hard on Whites by the Jews.

There's no need for an "alt-left" when the mainstream left is going full steam towards the logical conclusion of leftism.
The alt-right exist because the mainstream right-wing is going the opposite direction, cuckservatives are liberals with a lag of roughly 8 years, maybe less now that they are championing fag and tranny rights harder than Obama circa 2011.

What sort of person advocates for internet censorship?
>>77945396
The current left IS the "alt-left", as it has been for the past 20 years.
Conservatives in general are far more centrist than they were 50 years ago, whereas the average Liberal is far more radicalized and much further left. I mean, the only way to go further left for most Democrats is to go full-blown communist, which pretty much is the average Bernie supporter today.

>The alt-right has succeeded in gaining popularity
>implying it's not just a bunch of fucking memes
>>77945396
No faggot. Take your gay fucking shit elsewhere
Only if I can get lolis out of this.
>>77945447
At least it looks contradictory enough to be considered a true "Alt-" movement.
>>77945396
I'm with you bitches.
Do you read Robert Lindsay?
> the alt-left explicitly rejects Marxism
I don't reject Marx. He was limited, but saw something nobody else did.
>>77951983
>memes
Everything in human civilization and culture is memes.
>>77945396
You had me til the rejection of Marx.
I'm leftist as hell and in my view there is nothing leftist about SJWs or identity politics - for all their obsession with the triumvirate of race, sex, and gender, their claims fly in the face of decades of critical social theory
>>77945396
>>77945447
>implying alt-left isn't the modern day libertarian party
>>77945396
>as well as the leftist nationalist sympathizers such as the Free Palestine or Free Tibet movements.
I'd rather dip my balls in a mixer
>>77954347
>>implying alt-left isn't the modern day libertarian party
Where the hell do you get this from?
I've never met anyone libertarian who falls to the left side of the spectrum politically, perhaps you're thinking of faggy socialists.
Since leftism is primarily based on regulation and control rather than allowing individual freedoms with minimal interference, I think you may be a bit confused about all of this.
