This test is totally biased though. I'm a full-on libertarian but I still get centrist
>>77870187
I think it makes you a centrist if you're not some illogical fascist fan-boy nor person who is so misguided in terms of liberalism that they think there ought to be no government at all, or complain about "roads taking our freedoms."
Libertarian capitalists don't exist, you can't be all for strong economical approach to business and society without having a strong authoritative figure hushing up the retarded interns.
Centralized systems >>> Decentralized systems.

I have been taking surveys of the political compasses on /pol/ and will be sorting the ones in these threads. I sincerely hope that this means classical liberal and not the current incarnation. Because liberalism in America is most definitely not about free people and free markets.
>>77878953
>I sincerely hope that this means classical liberal and not the current incarnation.
You're correct
I get the feeling the creators really want people to be lolbertarians
>>77878953
Yeah, its definitely classic liberalism, founding principles of the Republican Party.
It says I'm a leftie but I kinda don't feel like it, I was a former cringe commie but fell out of it hard. Pretty much a NatSoc now.

>Stand up for your damn country.
Again, how does the political alignment on this chart imply that I don't?

>>77883131
Believing that Freedom in the most literal sense shouldn't be denied to an individual is a belief that is more Liberal than Authoritarian. It also happens to be a belief that the vast majority of people can agree with because very few people are entirely polarized to one side of the spectrum. You can still be 98% Authoritarian and disagree with that statement.

For me it's more:
"Libertarians: I may be a self-centered and lack empathy but at least I won't demand anything either."
I don't mind people thinking I'm a selfish asshole because I'm fair about it. It's basically the position for self sufficient hermits.

This test fucking sucks. The weighing is totally off, ideas of separate value are worth the same amount. All of the questions are in a conservative frame, making it lean conservative by confirmation tendency bias, too many ideas are lumped into one question and a lot of them are too broad.
howd i do
>>77887461
It mostly came from the anti abortion questions

What say you guys about this test? On the other 2 tests here, I got middle road lib basically. On this, I got young outsider, which was leaning on repub values. Afaik, it's basing on ideals from the 2014 election and values people had with candidates.

doing the test felt like reading rothbard
Everyone any semblance of logical thought is going to be libertarian according to that test.
>test talks about individual rights and the basis of the free market
>right to the bottom right with me
>test goes on to talk about government providing of basic social needs, education, and foreign affairs
>straight back to the middle
This is why I hate these 2D graphs. It tries to scrunch so many different ideological aspects of government into a single axis. And then tries to tell you "you don't really seem to have an opinion on anything" just because you're a strong believer in the social liberties and the free market that believes it's the government's job to maintain a baseline of fundamental rights, to protect it's own interests on the world stage, and to provide oversight to offset short-term cost and prevent excessively short-term gains.

How do you even get top left?
>>77881302
calm your emotions TJW
>>77915570
But why? Can you explain it to me?
>>77913187
I don't see why not. I mean there are a few nuances to the question.
For example, one side of the piece is the realm where government emphatically has stakes in making sure that there is a public service that is provided, but still allows private enterprises to compete for those who want alternatives. For example in private schools. As long as the private enterprises do not disincentivise public funding required to maintain the federally-regulated standards, why should the government further clip the wings of private enterprises? I'm sure a rabid free-market advocate would argue that the government's unfair competition is creating a bloated and inefficient government-funded program that private markets who would run them better and more efficiently can't compete against, but in education I think we're getting into moral and ethical value judgments that a free market just doesn't account for.
On the other side of the coin, if the Government is half-heatedly getting into a venture that it has no pressing rights concern because implementing it is simply a logistics matter, it's probably just going to end up as Government waste. To some extent this is happening with the USPS, but in small towns, the government is still needed to ensure what the government has decided is people's right to communication.
>>77916927
Thanks for voicing your opinion. It was interesting.
>>77915929
The idea is pretty simple and pretty true in general: when a private institution is doing something wrong, it gets out competed by a different private institution doing it right.
When a public institution is doing something wrong, it gets bailed out by government funding and continues doing it wrong. Thinking that either the government's brand or that being lead by officials elected by the people necessarily makes it the best economic force out there is not supported by history or common sense.
There are some caveats to both sides, of course, such as when monopolies form or when private enterprises with extremely large short-term costs, but good long-term benefits need to be subsidized in order to compete (such as Nuclear power plants). But that's the general thinking and it seems pretty true in practice.
>>77866461
Libertarian capitalist...
Is like saying wet water
>>77870187
The test most commonly taken here is pretty bad at exactly pinpointing your political beliefs and also your perception of what a libertarian is might be different from what other people think due to your location.
The test is just bad in the end, and it is also fucking horrible at mapping political candidates.
I'm guessing this means liberal in the classical sense.
