I'm currently on SS, and let me tell you, they are the biggest fucking scumbags in the United States. They mostly hire Mexicans and blacks to run their offices, they treat you like cattle, and they have a tendency to suddenly say "Sorry we're cutting you off because of some bullshit excuse we made up".
Oh and if you're working and you're on SS, you better believe they are watching your ass like a hawk, You make even one penny over the amount of money you can make while on SS while working((Its around $1100 I believe)), they will cut off your benefits

Medicare will pay for heroic, expensive treatments to try and buy people just a few more months. My grandfather had major surgery at age 90. It cost several hundred thousand dollars, all of which was paid by medicare. He spent the next six months going back between hospitals and nursing care, and then died. This was both a waste of money and a painful way for him to go. He should have been in hospice care and allowed to die, since it was his time.

Every old person in my family has/had plenty of money to blow. My grandfather who's still pretty healthy has a 3 story house out in Commiefornia. Some of them were big earners but most of them weren't, they just had the intelligence to sit down for 15 minutes and plan out their finances past next weekend. It's really really easy to be rich when you're a senior if you're not a dumb ass in your youth, that's just a fact of compound interest.

Social welfare programs like medicare and medicaid are money chutes that go straight from the poor right into the private sector, so I don't know why the right would complain. The only real issue is that they dip into SS for other shit than the stuff its actually meant for then make excuses.
