People were in love with America, Russians were coming here and saying "Glasnost!" and there was a feeling of that we had a righteous cause and that America was a shining beacon on a hill. Reagan and Bush were there to comfort you and tell you that even through it all things would be okay, that the commies wouldn't win and if unions got too uppity and went on strike, we'd just tell them to shut the fuck up and go back to work and incredibly, they would.
Wall Street was this awesome place of wealth generation, hot shots with freshly minted finance degrees were making money quicker than ever seen, capitalism was a godsend.
Of course by 88 we'd after a market crash and Iran/Contra we'd know a lot of what our government said was pure lies. But damnit, we still had Hulk Hogan and Rocky.
Now its like people have a hate on for everything American, there is literally no thing about America everyone likes.
We hate our, Congress, Presidents, Senate, Candidates for President, Roads and Infrastructure and we hate when they fix the roads because we hate traffic, we hate our sports, NBA and NFL Commissioners, we hate Baseball its too slow, we hate our movies because they are too political or not enough, we hate marriage sex and relationships, we hate each other for believing in different things, or different gods, or gods at all, we hate guns, we hate people who want to take our guns away, we hate capitalism, we hate the stock market, we hate Wall Street and we definitely hate Bankers, we hate Mexico, we hate everyone here from Mexico, we hate white people even more, we hate Muslims we hate people who hate Muslims, we hate riots, Black Lives Matter and we hate video games, we hate PC/SJW/Anti-PC and MRA and definitely FBI and CIA.
