Section 8 is a voucher that you take to whatever landlord will accept. "Section 8 housing" isn't a thing, unless you're talking about Public Housing, which is property owned by the government and leased to people at discounted rates (based on their income).

Castro's HUD department is single-handedly destroying my hometown of Dubuque, Iowa.
They came in a couple years ago, declared all of our low-income housing and jobs programs were racist (because they were all aimed at helping Iowans first and Iowa happens to be 90-95% White) and basically blackmailed most of Iowa by threatening to gut all federally funded programs if they didn't let the HUD "fix" these programs.
Our spineless officials caved under the pressure and now Dubuque, along with most of Eastern Iowa is being forced at financial gunpoint to import welfare leeches, drug dealers, and other thugs from inner-city Chicago by the hundreds.
Less than a decade ago Dubuque was being praised as one of the safest cities in America, with violent, sexual, and property crime levels that would make Andy Taylor jealous. Since Castro's HUD "fixed" our racist programs, we've started averaging about a dozen homicides a year, where before we averaged maybe one every couple of years. We've seen an epidemic of heroin, which was all-but-unheard of in Iowa before now, which led to dozens of OD deaths this last year, and worst of all, we've seen hundreds of nice (albeit poor) neighborhoods across the city and state turn into crime-ridden ghettos.
At the moment I'm planning to write in Jim Webb out of principal, he's the only candidate from this year I actually respected, but if Clinton picks this greasy little fuck for her VP, party loyalty-be-damned, I'm going Full Trump.
