Iodine will absolutely BTFO any bacteria. Copper and silver work similarly, but copper gets toxic very quickly and silver is expensive. If you just put a fuckton of iodine in some distilled water and use that for your drinking water, coffee water etc it will make your blood and digestive tract stronger against bacteria. Why are you guys worrying about mrsa, vrsa and anything of the same matter? Here in Russia it is taught to us medical students that while the overusage of antibiotics will cause the emergence of resistant strains, the resistant strains will die out once we cease using the antibiotics because it is a natural process.
When a resistant strain are too much until it significantly affect the public health sector, we simply stop using that particular antibiotics until the strain subside. The prophylaxis for resistant strains is moderate usage of antibiotics by public health sector and general public and can be done easily by education of the doctors and general public, and implementation of protocols.

The thing is, we don't feed our livestocks antibiotics, until recently, so the resistant strains are not developed yet. We can still implement law to reduce the usage of it in agriculture but for now there is no pressure to do so.
The law will finally be discuss when the other country start having this problem and the public demand for it. I assume that USA will encounter this problem first, since you guys fed a stupid amount of antibiotics to the livestocks. i.e. It is a problem but it will never be our problem, thank you for your sacrifice to protect our citizens.

We pissed away the gift of antibiotics in less than a century. We'll be bringing out the dead in another.

> defeat cancer
We have poured money in, i mean really poured money into cancer and we've accomplished mild improvements in the 5 year survival rate. Despite talk of magic bullets we aren't near curing cancer - cancer cells can hide and white blood cells actively reactivate cancer cells after its beaten back.
We won't beat cancer until we control genes, seen as cancer is pretty much a genetic inevitability. As cells reproduce they lose some genetic material - for most of your life this is junk dna, but as the telomeres shorten over a lifespan it starts to lose actual coding dna and random mutations/errors begin.
So in many ways we will never cure cancer until we almost stop aging. We'll just get better and better at slowing it.

It's not any better than it was when we abandoned it as a treatment, it's not a real substitute.
Greed caused this.

To some extent but see my other post:

That's what we were taught in medschool, that we'll have to be prepared for intervals of reduced antibiotic use, but not their irrelevance. I may be wrong, but thats what i know.
Actual person into bacteria's and antibiotics here. One of our best bets for survival is to start to vaccinate against as many strains as we can. We have already seen shifting strains in Pneumococci. There are a few vaccines, mostly given to children and older people. Pneumococci are typical bacteria's for mid ear infections, that usually are treated with antibiotics. However, vaccinate your kid against the bacteria strain, he doesn't get sick and every kid or person not taking an antibiotic is good news. That means that the resistant bacteria's aren't as much selected against and get diluted in the general bacteria population.
Another very important part to save our antibiotics is to stop their use in farming. when given antibiotics for no reasons, animals grow a bit bigger. So they are stuffed full.
A last solution, but that will most likely be implemented too late, is to regulate them in third world countries, implying we take over their health care again. They are actively harming ALL HUMANITY by being retarded.

Underrated point. The reason we don't use antibiotics on viri, by the way, is because they don't do anything to viri.

Meanwhile they're trying to push TTIP in our throat just so that can sell that same meat to us, which they have as a lower cost than european meat.
I don't eat it anymore and to be fair, anyone who has a brain shouldn't buy industrially grown meat either. Meat should be friggin expensive.

What is different about US meat to european?
>battling e.coli
>battling a coliform
Nigger you're retarded
>>77705173
It's already quite bad in europe, they're under quite some antibiotics and have to be because the living conditions are abysmal. The amount of cows that get mastitis (inflamation of the udder) is huge, because of how much milk we suck out of there with sometimes less than stellar gear so they get under antibiotics etc. There are sometimes traces of pus in fresh milk, but we don't know, since we pasteurize this shit.
However we have a mandatory wash out period of a number of weeks for all animal products, so there is only traces of antibiotics. But still, the resistant strains are also driven to become dominant by the large use in animals, even if Europe is still a bit better.
>>77705327
Americans are allowed to give their cattle growth hormones. To sell this meat here, they'd first have to prove beyond all doubts that this practice has no adverse effects on humans.
>>77705327
It has a strong flavor of freedom which Europeans find unsettling and scary.
>>77705327
US meat is much less restrictive in its use of antibiotics.
See also: >>77705508
We have wash out periods and a maximum allowed trace amount of antibiotics in meat.

Also, they don't feed livestock grain or grass or anything they'd normally eat. They feed them corn, which is hugely unhealthy for both the cow and us poor Americans who eat the meat of the cow.
Meanwhile, regular fruit and veggies, as well as any meat that isn't corn-fed, costs about twice or even thrice as much as a fast-food hamburger.
Starting to see why so many Americans are so fat?
Isn't China having an issue with superbugs since they are using last resort medications on their livestock?

Vet student here, can confirm. Farmers are fucking retarded but if they come into your practice asking to buy X antibiotic in bulk and it can be sold over the counter you have an obligation to sell it to them. Atleast here anyway, half the time they don't see anything beyond their own profits.
>>77705665
Pushing back tumours is not a cure, we dont talk of cures in cancer even when there is no detectable malignant body. Because cancer cells go dormant then white cells later switch them back on, or small cellular metastases have gone elsewhere.
But even at that I doubt cannabis oil is nearly as effective as chemotherapy - people just desperately wish natural remedies are miracle cures - you see it in the forums of every disease groups and the bane of doctors' lives are patients refusing treatment and saying paleo and no sugar will cure them.
If it works somewhat, amazing and i'd happily accept it - but i am skeptical.

Seems like these bacteria have been spreading and increasing around the world for the last 20 years or more. Unless a cure is found, it might get out of control in some 3rd world country. Israel dealt with their own epidemic quite nicely in 2008 from the looks of it. Fancy that I've never heard of that incident before.

Just eat at A&W all the time bro, they dont use hormones or antibiotics on any of their meats.
They have this BBQ burger out right now with fried onions and some kind of light dijon sauce mixed with a BBQ sauce, pepper bacon etc on it.

Ah yeah, got a couple of stories myself:
>the cries from dairy cows who get their veals taken away, they spend the whole night and day crying for their babies
>male goats are useless for the dairy, so they get killed. Sometimes just by smashing the head in. That's one in two live animals that gets rekt because it isn't a female
>male chicken are grounded alive to make nuggets and that sort of basic "chicken" meat, because only the hens are useful to lay eggs
>A chicken raised for meat is a disgusting, unnatural animal that is killed at 6 months of age but looks already huge at that time. If you let one get to adulthood for shits and giggles, their legs break under their own body weight
>chicken meant to lay eggs are kept in cages with a metal grid so feces and eggs drop through, but that hurts their legs and feet. They're more or less in constant pain. also sometimes a chicken will just die there and lay there for days
>"free range" chickens in europe doesn't mean they see the light of the sun. It means they are densely packed on the ground in a large industrial garage and there is a door that stays open to the outside world. Do not for a second think your eggs have seen the light of day just because there is "free range" written on it.
I wish this was just vegetarian propaganda but it isn't.
