There have been "ex" soldiers trained in European armies of minorities who went and joined ISIS aswell as other groups.
These people have zero allegiance to the country in question, they're not affiliated with it's people and don't care. Which is exactly what politicians want because before long they'd need someone who can crack down on the increasingly unruly Europeans.
It's for the same reason they push for an EU army. So they can put Swedish soldiers in Spain to keep the Spanish in check, while putting Spanish soldiers in Sweden to do the same there. These armies would be seen as occupational and there would be minimal collusion, while the soldiers themselves would be seen as "nuisance" and "outsiders" imposing their will upon the population. It's way easier to mobilize and use them against the people than it would be with their own army.
