I did fine in the Australian Army and thought about the legion seriously, but after tonnes of research and talking to a guy who had done it i decided that you would have to have literally no other option to be able to push through the absolute degradation ive heard people talk about there.

Foreigners can become NCO's so you technically can become an officer but you will be in for more than the 5 year contract if you want to do that. Death rate is 10% so OP knows what's up. FFL are not specops. Physical training may be comparable (or rather merely approach) to Army Rangers but they certainly don't have the equipment or technical training. They are just really good infantry/light cavalry/combat engineers/paratroopers.

There is a FFL forum that has certified legionaires, meaning you don't get the title on the forum if you didn't serve. I don't have the link as I'm on my phone but I found it about a year ago with little effort.
If you want to know why I was ever interested in the FFL it's because I have one charge on my record and even though the Marines accept felons they don't accept people with assault on a police officer. I got tackled by an undercover cop when I was 18 and he separated his shoulder, which by law in my state is technically assault. He never even identified himself to me, which they don't have to anyways.
I'm sure the FFL would send me home for it to which is one of the reasons I haven't tried. I'm not spending 2k to get sent home in rejection.
