Because hypermechanization of the economy has reduced the number of jobs (and increased the qualifications necessary to hold said jobs in many cases), and inflation has made it difficult to pay for food/services. Raising the minimum wage has only made things worse.

It is very easy to get a job where you can support yourself and you can so this right now in America without even a highschool diploma.

1)The issue is people are fucking pussies.

2)They are also betting on a welfare state.

They are also utilizing as much of their parents as possible because of 1 and 2.

A lot can't find work, and even among those who can, a lot can't find jobs that pay well enough for decent housing.

They dont have any way of making 7 million dollars to afford a shitty house. All the immigrants skilled and unskilled have taken all the jobs. Our governments no longer care for the people only their own pay checks.

Because the housing bubble will never fucking pop. You either live with your parents or with flatmates until your 30s even with a steady income.

No. Wrong. So wrong. This is all relative to standard of living. A person can survive on less than $1,000 per month in ANY part of America.

You simply aren't doing any work.

Static wages. Higher employment requirements. Higher youth unemployment. Ever increase home and rental prices.

I'm 33 and I live at home. I'm self employed. I don't pay rent but I pay for my share of the food, power, heating, renovations. Most of my free time I spend gaming, playing vidya, and working out.

> choosing

It's not a choice
It's submission.
Millennials can't get good jobs, even if they have STEM degrees or trade skills
The economy is simply in a shit spot right now
Companies don't want to hire
Companies that have to hire want to hire part time
Companies that hire full time are flooded with older more experienced applicants
Older applications are staying in their cushy jobs longer because they want to rebuild their retirement savings
Which means less jobs open up for Millennials

It's a shit system for the young and it's only going to get worse.

in my country things have always been like that

my question 4 u is:
how did you make them not to be like that in the past?
>>
Let's see. I could save my money, pay no rent, or electricity, or cable / internet and live with my parents, saving up my money to eventually buy my own house.

Or, I could spend almost all my income renting a shitty ass tiny, over-priced apartment, saving hardly anything because rent is $1,200 + utilities in my city for a 1 bedroom apartment in a shitty complex unless I want to live in the nigger-infested Ghettos in a shithole that costs almost the same.

It was only in the recent past that people had this behavior of leaving home as soon as they turn 18. For the vast majority of human civilization, a family lives together for a very long time. It was only until the 20th century and the economic booms that occurred, especially after WWII, that it was more economical to leave home and buy your own house. Housing used to be dirt cheap, and getting steady, well-paying work was also simple. That is not the case anymore, rent is over-priced and a bad investment. Housing prices have soared in most of the US.

Another huge problem is the fact that coastal states, specifically urban locales with plenty of jobs, have overly inflated high house prices due to robber barons - you either get lucky and get a high-paying job, or be doomed to rent for the rest of your life.

My parents used to own a nicely-sized middle class house that they bought in the early '90s for ~150k. Right before the bubble burst, that same house was worth ~750k according to a few appraisers before it dropped to 300k after.

It's unsettling to see how many people give banks and loan sharks the benefit of a doubt and blame the people. They'll gladly shaft you for every nickel and dime you've got. Another trend is that a lot of these vacant homes are starting to be rented out on principle - the banks that own them from foreclosure will find it easier to make extra cash instead of selling it right away. The house will still be for sale, per se, but they'll rent it out at near-monthly mortgage prices until you put a fat down payment on it.

tl;dr: Lack of oversight and regulation on the housing market leads to rampant speculation and profiteering that hurts the working class in an already unsteady economy, coupled with the fact that incomes have not followed inflation trends for the past half-century.

>for parents to say to their child of any age to move out would be a huge violation of social norms
Around here most parents pressure their children to leave the house as soon as they hit 18. For more well-off families, they will pay for their college tuition + living quarters. But the absolute cut-off date is after college, if you're over 22 and still living with your parents (like me), you're considered absolute scum by normie society.

Don't really give a fuck myself if poorfag wagecucks look down on me for staying with mummy. I make nearly 3x what they make and have a huge savings, while they're coasting paycheck to paycheck letting Mr. Silverstein harass them for rent money every month.

>>
>>77661699
You want my honest answer to your question?

Buy land. Build a house. You are a man and you can do these things, stop letting consumerism run your life.

But also, you didn't make any sort of real excuse as to why you wouldn't buy a 60k house. You also made no excuse as to why you wouldn't sleep in a $200 per month room on craigslist.

You are limiting yourself. Do you work for nothing? What you SAVE are your profits from work, not the number on your check.

This faggot actually has a point. For most of my adult life rent has been probably the largest drain on my income, I think if my dad was willing to let me move back in rent-free or at a low rent I'd probably take him up on it, and focus on saving money until I could make a down payment on something. A friend of mine lives at home because his father died and his mom needs the rent money she charges him in order to make mortgage payments. >how did you make them not to be like that in the past?

The entire world was ravaged by WWII, it took Europe decades to catch up the U.S., and now that they have, it's going to be tougher for the US to compete. At the same time as Europe was catching up with the US, we were setting up the Asian countries to handle out manufacturing, displacing a lot of the simple jobs that don't require degrees.

There is only one solution, and that is to start stagnating the global population, but our population models are all based on growth, so it's tough.

It's not that we "made" our economy great in the past as much as circumstance provided an insane windfall in North America that took decades for the free market to adjust back to equilibrium.

There is nothing that the US can do on it's own to return to it's glory from the 1950's-1990's. The only chance of that happening is for another war to destroy all of the other countries infrastructure again. Seemed impossible right up until Merkel, now I legitimately wonder what kind of crazy shit might happen. #StayOutOfEuropesWar

Housing market is raw shit right now. Crazy inflation everywhere because 70 year old boomers are buying 2-3 houses with 20 year mortgages that they will die before they pay off. And unlike previous generations, boomers will spend every penny they have before they die, so banks won't have anything to take back except the houses themselves. So a few years from now, banks are going to be settled with piles of houses from dead old people that they are paying property tax on and want to sell fast.

Right now, it's best to just save the money we have.

eg. icecream is a 5-10x more expenisve in rest of europe

so i assumed that higher pays covered it

This to be honest, family. Med school is great and all, but you're fucked until you've had a steady job for at least 8 years.

Doctor/nursing isn't the way to go anymore. STEM students get cash practically thrown at them just for having a high GPA, and get paid shitloads for doing research as opposed to pay fo doing residency.

Then they actually get paid to finish off their Ph.D.

>cousin finished med school 3 years ago and is still getting boned by debt payments.
>I'm finishing bachelors in physics/materials science and have a few job offers and around 30k in scholarships looking at me

Thanks bro.
Honestly it's not their fault, you have to think about it from an American historical perspective and understand how they grew up. After WWII the economy was in such a huge boom that for the boomers' generation, they could literally leave their parents' house at 18, find a wife and buy a house. Then the family could afford to live entirely off of the husband's income while the wife stayed home. It's why the grandpas over here tell you "Just give 'em a firm handshake son and you'll get the job" type of shit, it worked in their generation. Doesn't work now. It's not their fault they don't get it.

We taxed the rich 70% to pay for social programs and to lower taxes on 90% of the population.

I'm not kidding at all, look up US tax brackets by history. This whole "Bernie Sanders welfare state" bullshit is how US society used to be; the rich paid the most, they were still the richest, and we used all that dosh to subsidize things everyone needed.

We can't do it now, of course. Our hands are in too many cookie jars and the laws allow the rich to simply leave. Our main protection back then was being the one with the nukes, so everyone rich and powerful needed to live in the USA to feel safe and in control.
>>
>>77662714

Speaking for Tampa, Florida average rent with one roommate is like $725 a month. Minimum wage is like $8.75 so around $9 per hour. I'm less than a year out of college and earn 32,000 net. 25% goes to taxes and 10% goes to Investments and 401k. If I stick to the rule of no more than 1/3rd of net income going to housing, I'd be able to afford $577 a month.

Which gets me not much better than a shitty studio in a tiny city or a shitty one bedroom apartment in a midwest suburb. Alternatively, I can stay home, and save up to pay off student loans and maybe someday have a nice 1 bedroom apartment in a non-nigger infested city.
>>
>>77662774
$5-10k a month is considered rich here in Sweden, now take away 50% of it for taxes so $2,5-5k. Rent here for a 2 bedroom apartment in a Muslim no-go zone goes for a minimum of $800. And finally add to that all the ridiculous prices on everything and a degenerate "spend all your savings on vacations and eating out every week" culture. No one can be rich here in Sweden unless they own a business.

This, and they have to stay as dependeds to keep their parent's medical insurance.

Lot's of millennial realizing the job market is dry, stuck with a bunch of debt, and all it takes is one trip to the ER to destory their financial stability.

It is criminal, and a fucking joke. But 99% of people don't realize it until the cold hard fist of failed socialism is securely seated in their anus.

Selfish baby boomers voting with nothing but their own security in mind, oblivious to the lies of the two party system, and we inherited America in it's death throes.

before ww2 where I live were simple rural pastoral societies
before ww1 it was medieval level of development (im not kidding, im not even hyperbolizing) because of the years of militärgrenze

in that same time when you were having the 50s and such, not so long ago,
imagine a family of a dozen living off 5 acres of land
nobody complained
they were all happy to be alive and appreciated everything more
how sad is that?

imagine before ww1 USA

Another way to look at it: assume the cost of living remains the same. You can either save 5% of your paycheck (rest is spent on living) for 5 years (or thereabout), or you can save 100% of your paychek for 5 years while collecting interest on it. In the latter scenario, at the end of the 5 years, your new salary is such that you can save over 50% of it and live alone, and all that money you saved and put in the bank you could give to your parents as thanks instead of to some jew.
The point is, it's just so ridiculously more efficient, more healthy, more lucrative and simpler that anyone who doesn't do it and doesn't make 6 figures is the real loser.

How are they living at a lower standard? If they have room then what do they lose? If you pay tyhem rent instead of jews then that's a positive for everyone.

Fucking hell. I want to move out so bad and then I read threads like these where you guys complain and it makes me almost think I have no chance. Maybe you guys have comfy families that will leave you alone and give you space. Some of us however have to live with mentally unstable degenerates who even though we still respect, we can't fathom to be another day with them. Maybe if you guys also stopped supporting corporate jews and started economizing and living a minimalist life you guys would also be fine. If you want to be rich then go to fucking school, if you don't go to school then I don't know what the fuck you were expecting.

/thread.

Most people can't see the damage that unregulated credit booms inflict. Most people cant even see the housing bubble as a symptom of a credit bubble.

There are ways to get $ without school thanks all the new startup shit, but you need connections, serious networking skills, and an innovative mind. App making can make you an overnight millionaire truthfully.

Theres nothing left in the world to discover anymore. The world is just so damn mediocre and so everyone just waits for the destroyer to end it all now.

Shitty economy, low pay, high housing prices.

The american dream is dead, people who say otherwise are either profiting from the death spiral and want to sustain it as long as possible or have survivorship bias.

One thing minorities have over whites is the family unit. I live in a heavily populated area of Mexicans and so many of them look at me funny when I tell them that I want to move out and be independent. To them they already have that at home and their family is real close. White families always seem to secretly hate each other and if you don't move out by 20 they just don't even hide it anymore.

>whats up with this meme that women having jobs fucks up society

Before the 1960's, most people got married and had a family. If they didn't get married straight out of high school, women would usually work secretarial, nanny, seamstress type jobs until they found a husband. If their family was well off, they could go to college to get their Mrs. degree.
Then they would teach their children, keep the home, and cook gealthy meals for their family.

Most men didn't go to college, because you didn't need a degree for most jobs. Who the fuck needs a degree to run a register, stock shelves, pick fruit, drive a truck, dig a hole, collect garbage, sell cars, or deliver mail?

You would apprentice to learn a trade like plumber, carpenter, electrician, mechanic, bricklayer; many other professions were learned while working as well.

In the 60s, all that went to shit.
It was decided that everyone was exactly the same.
No-fault divorce let women off the hook for their half of the marriage contract. They burned their bras and started dressing and acting like men.

Effectively, the number of possible workers doubled overnight.
Employers could begin to offer lower wages and demand more from prospective employees because of the surplus labor.
This is exactly when wages stopped rising with inflation.

Slowly, they began to require a college degree for simple jobs. Now they ask for years of experience on top of that.

tl;dr
Women entering the workforce enmasse created a labor glut, causing wage stagnation and a buyers market for employers.

Its a hell of a lot cheaper to live with parents and buy a house in a year or two after saving up for a down payment than it is to live in an apartment.

it's not just the debt. It's that the good paying jobs are disappearing, being replaced with low paid immigrants and special privileged.

>>77659916

It's because we have a parasitic class who lives off the productions of the working class.

I see it everywhere... illegal spics working under the watch of the white middle-upper class.

That once $25 per hour job is now a $8.50 per hour exploit. The companies claim they can't afford to pay better. It's bullshit. They just don't want to give up their large lavish lifestyle.

The working class is now a slave class which pays their monthly rental fee as nearly half of their earnings.

It's funny isn't it? Around 2007 all of these low energy consumption electronics debuted. Ironically my electric bill has gone up.

Boomers aren't retiring as early as previous generations. If they can actually afford to retire.

Boomers moved the jobs overseas to make more money. When they already enjoyed a healthy economy, decent wages, and strong buying power.

Boomers decided that cheap tuition at tax supported state university was "socialism". Changed public schools to be funded by private student debt. After they benefited already from cheap public university. Then they pushed the meme of college degrees equal six figure starting salaries.
