They were German puppets and sold Polish companies and land to Germans for pennies like crazy. New Gov decided to tax the fuck out of Germans, who dominate our market and now, suddenly "democracy in Poland is threatened". Germans used their money to sell at loss and destroy polish competition in many fields. Thankfully poles slowly wake up and start buying in Polish shops more and more. Tldr, it's hard to compete with Germans when your economy suffered under Communism and your government used to be filled with their agents.
