'Sup /pol/. I can't tell you who I am or where I work but it's true. There's been a huge build-up of Russian and NATO troops at the Ukraine - Russian border. USAREUR has been flying in this past couple of weeks to reinforce it. Some of you may have been hearing heavy air traffic around your areas, or even the systems test for air raid alerts.
There have actually been small-scale clashes between troops, but nothing truly major yet. The news media aren't going to report on it until it goes red hot.
Basically the Russians are super pissed about NATO build-up in the area, and have decided to send punitive raids into the country to try and force Ukraine to stop co-operating with NATO. These are the little green men that were showing up in the Crimea, but they've been really doing some damage this time as they moved into Ukraine proper. Obviously NATO and the US won't stand for this, and there is much concern that Russia will take this the wrong way and just invade other countries like Finland, too.
Some footage has been shown to us, of guided weapons destroying installations in the local vicitnity, but like I mentioned the media has been told not to report on it yet and many don't even know the full extent. The US and NATO really want the chance to get Russia to stand down as neither side desires war over something so stupid.
I don't really have any advice for you but if you live in Europe get out.
