I don't understand why people are so averse to the Marxist critique. Where do you think unions, minimum wages, paid sick leave, annual leave, the 8 hour working day, a social wage come from? They come from organized systems of critique -- such as Marxism. It has played a fairly important role in changing capitalism for the better.
Capitalism was never about the peasantry. It was about the lords and merchants being able to control their own capital independent of the crown. Capitalism seems more Jewish to me than Communism. Not to say I agree with communism, but Marxism as has a definite utility in critiquing capitalism.
