The truth is that Canada is more pozzed up on an individual basis than Sweden. The main reason is because Canada has strict requirements for immigration (easily the strictest of any nation that accepts tons of immigrants per year). They need to have an education, must speak English or French, must have no criminal charges whatsoever (not actual convictions, just charges), etc.
The result is that the immigrant communities aren't absolute drains on society like in Sweden, where they do nothing but suck the blood of the Swedish people, causing many Swedes to stay woke.
Despite the relative success of the requirements, Canada has still descended into a balkanized country where every ethnicity has its own neighborhoods. The Asians in Markham and Richmond Hill, the Indians in Brampton, European enclaves here and there, etc. It has no identity anymore, it is not a real nation. Home costs are skyrocketing and since the average immigrant is fairly wealthy there might not be a bubble popping like there was in the USA for quite some time, all that will happen is the Canadian middle class will continue to be priced out of the market, forever spending their wages paying rent and never really gaining equity. The irony here is even when mass immigration is done with some sense of responsibility, it can still have a detrimental effect on the current population.
Add this with the fact that most Canadians have severe inferiority complexes. Many never skip an opportunity to get some kind of jab in on America, it's pathetic. The USA is freer, wealthier, and more accomplished than Canada at everything except hockey and snowplowing capacity. Most Canadians think they are the shit because Canada has universal healthcare, even though any Canadian worth their salt would get coverage from having a job in the USA while paying less taxes and owning their own house.
