If you believe that the Second Amendment is absolute and that "Shall not be infringed" includes no background checks, how do we stop someone in a terrorist sleeper cell from walking into a gunstore and buying an AR-15 or similar semiautomatic rifle and just murdering a bunch of infidels like he did in Orlando? Wouldn't a background check at least make sure he's not an American citizen or flag if he's being investigated for suspicions of being a terrorist?

We have background checks. The most recent iteration is called NICS. It's been in place for 30 years and is required for all licensed firearm dealers.

You couldn't even if the manufacture and sale of all firearms was banned forever. Firearms will always be available at least to someone willing to break a law, the same way that hard drugs are not difficult to come by if you have money. But even if, theoretically, you destroyed all guns in america forever, they would just use a bomb instead, or fire, or poisonous gas. We should be glad they ARE using guns, because the solution to that problem is obvious: proliferation of armed resistance, either professional or civilian depending on the context.

I understand being in europe you don't have much familiarity with the notion of "due process". But maybe look it up? Essentially, the idea is that the government can't treat you as a second class citizen based on the suspicion of wrongdoing, they actually have to accuse you. Because being put on a watch list is an incredible arbitrary and error prone process. Many people have been unable to fly on airplanes because they had a name that was just similar to a different person, even a dead person. You can be put on a list for being related to a person suspected of being associated with a member of an organization recognized as a potential terrorist organization by a non-american government.
