Texas is pretty good from what I've hear big state, a lot of jobs, kind of overrated though, but I don't really know too much because I never lived there.
But speaking from living in Vegas, with a degree like yours we have a lot of tech companies here where you'll have no trouble finding a job and the casinos are always looking for people and they pay pretty well.
But both states are pretty similar - no state income tax, gun friendly, really hot in the summer.

Also some have moved to positions in natural gas. The real estate market is booming. Tech exports have now surpassed California to become the nations leader.
