You know we're going to remain right? The undecideds will ultimately decide and they will choose the safer option. The fact is that we will be unable to control our borders if we leave the EU. In fact, my mum came into my room to bring me a plate of chicken tendies and I literally screamed at her and hit the plate of chicken tendies out of her hand. She started yelling and swearing at me and I slammed the door on her. I'm so distressed right now I don't know what to do. I didn't mean to do that to my mum but I'm literally in shock from the polling. I feel like I'm going to explode. Why the fucking fuck is Brexit STILL in the lead? This can't be happening. I'm having a fucking breakdown. I don't want to believe the UK is so corrupt. I want a future to believe in. I want the EU to step in and fix this broken country. I cannot fucking deal with this right now. It wasn't supposed to be like this, I thought we liked free travel and learning???? This is so fucked.

Yeh, no.

The vast majority of people supporting remain are those who are afraid for their business/home. Those are the ones you're missing and why the leave vote isn't getting bigger so fast.

>>77458215
Actually it's quite the other way around. Leave is an initiative, a drive. It's something you do. Remain is just sorta standing still. It's less likely to motivate you to do the physical act of going to vote, since it doesn't mean anything.

Labour are having a big problem with that.

>>

Haha, no. That's not happening. Wartime memories still run way too strong.

Imagine post-WW1 Europe levels of distrust remaining, only Germany had always been in control of the vast majority of the continent (i.e. China). Meanwhile, France remaining independent, but being split inn two between a German and British administration, and consequently also having issues with both major powers (i.e. Korea, North + South). Not a great analogy, but it works.

tl;dr he thinks we became pussies and complacent. We lost our spirt and charge, our wish for control and domination, and innovation too; our curiosity too was crushed like our navy and power. We lost our love of the little things and 'eloquence', as well as our hatred for statism, injustice and oppression.

Little does he know that spirit was as repressed as our emotions, silently waiting for the perfect moment to pounce at our enemies and restore the greatness in Britain. And now, we see the return of that spirit that shook the world from its core to bring about this modern world.

You mean you've been indoctrinated in the current flavor of the decade?

We were communist not too long ago, and at that time the vast majority of the experts, and professors and PhDs were in line with the official ruling ideology.

As soon as communism fell, or just before when it became obvious that the gravy train was switching tracks, almost all of these experts suddenly became very partial to capitalism, free market economics etc.

Very few people are actual experts, most people bullshit and go along with the prevailing ideology.

Can anyone fill me in as to why EU does not trade much with the rest of the world and turns down trade deals with them? Is it because of regulations, tariffs, or what?
>>
>>77459266
It's not across the board. The EU sets rates on non-EU goods at its own discretion. Tomatoes are the best example, there are punitive tariffs on those because when the developing North African nations started producing them and exporting them cheaply the tomato farmers in Italy and France kicked up a shitstorm and demanded '''''protection''''' for their livelihoods. Wine and cheese are others.

I can't cite figures off the top of my head but I'm sure google will be able to help you

As I recall, because of Scotland's relatively small population the explanation for this is that the system wouldn't be able to accommodate English students en masse because the funding for Scottish students comes from the huge student fees given to non-eu students studying at places like St. Andrews.

It's been a while but I think the figures were something like 1 US student pays for 3 Scottish students.

The EU specifically tries to promote industry within the EU (or at least, in those countries where it is politically expedient to do so) - which is why the CAP is rigged for French farmers.

By not trading with Africa or other growing regions, the French can keep selling their over-expensive goods, but the Africans can't develop a country properly if we don't do business with them, and because we can't buy their cheaper crops, food is more expensive in the EU.

Repeat this across every industry and you'll see why the EU is a fundamentally crooked bunch of wankers.
>>
>>77459488
The French. They tend to be the roadblock between the EU and pro-business policies. Germany want us to stay because we tend to have similar goals in the EU. Without us France will be fully in control.

The EU/EEC has always been run for the benefit of France. Just look at the CAP.

Anyone else waiting for the betting odds to start favoring Leave a lot more before putting a bet on Stay?

I'm voting out but there's no chance in hell we're going to get a leave vote regardless of what the polls say, people will come out of the woodwork at the last minute to maintain status quo and even if they don't, the postal votes will miraculously be 90% stay.

>France will be fully in control.

No, just no.

France has literally no say.

They are bankrupt, have no industry and no money.

They are on life support by Germany.

Whatever Germany says, they are forced to repeat.

Germany is 100% in control.

That policies are pro-French is also because this approach benefits Germany - keeping foreign competition out means Germany still dominates EU markets, so that's fine by them even if the rest of us fail. You're right, just not the right country.
>>
>>77459509
Who knows, but we all know Nige was all about taking risks - he's a banker, so he knows that the best take the best risks.

I think Nige will be fine, since 7 days is a long time. But if he does this shit on the 22nd or - god dread - the 23rd then I'll be scared.

It's probably in response to the 10 o clock news yesterday which had a NATO bloke telling us to stay, mostly by playing down the role of NATO and a Europol bloke implying the EU wouldn't share as much intelligence.

>Confirmation bias
>For a racist Nige

Scott Adams pls.

Nige has been called a racist by everyone in the media for literally years now, there's no more confirmation bias for people to make. If anything people have been realising that he isn't actually a racist for most of this campaign.
>>
>>77459367

What else can they possibly throw at us

No, really

Anything they do do just turns into a shambles within hours, like Osborne announcing a potential emergency budget and they 50 MPs saying lol no, you'll be resigning if we leave
>>
>>77459528
You're pointing to the consequences of this EU tyranny. This is why I said earlier that the EU's future is not bright. It will tear itself apart in the near future whether we remain or not. I'd rather not be chained to it when it does.
>>
>>77459711
thanks, Thats how I tell time.
>>
>>77459488
Ultimately the EU is a protectionist racket. Protectionism is at the very core of its foundations. It was established in its first incarnation to protect German and French steel and coal from cheaper foreign imports. This philosophy is very much still alive today, the focus has just shifted to agricultural products.

French vintners and cheesemakers, Italian tomato growers and Greek olive growers want guarantees that they will not be undercut by North Africans, South Americans and Californians. They lobby the EU to help them with this, and the EU demands that in influx of competing goods cannot undercut the domestic market. This means foreign sellers have to charge more for their products - and therefore sell less of them - if they want a trade deal. This is not attractive to countries that produce large quantities of these products, as it means they're competing with people they otherwise wouldn't have to and therefore not selling as much as they could.

It's not that the EU won't agree to trade deals, it's that it won't agree to trade deals that aren't weighted heavily in favour of its domestic producers.
