From the 17th century to 1950 itnwas commonly understood that "British" meant a white person from the island of Britain, it was a term that united us all.
But now you only see thingthings like the EDL, the SDL, etcetera, even our nationalists have to divide themselves into English, Scottish and Welsh, there are no "British nationalists" because "British" means BAME now.

Ok lads, real talk for a second
I know the fire is rising and so are the polls, but we all know what's coming.
That silent group, the ones who question nothing the government says, the ones who read the headline and take it as fact... the postal voters.
On the 23rd, it will be close. The swing vote will definitely be in Remain's favour. At the last moment when pen touches paper, they will think "is it worth the risk." Some will break.
While the public at large may have a majority for leave, the quiet masses are the ones who are most likely to vote remain.
I don't think we can do it unless we have double digit, poll-wide consensus. For that reason, I'm not getting my hopes up.
51 remain, 49 leave, with the postal vote swinging it.

>>77426132
The really fucked up thing is this vote is all or nothing, despite that obviously not being what the people want.
If leave win by a single vote then we will pull everything out of the EU, brick up the tunnel, commence unrestricted submarine warfare on EU convoys.
If remain win by a single vote the union jack above westminster and the parliament with it will be burnt to the ground, we will officially be under the direct rule of Jean claude Juncker as a puppet of the EU.
Then all the other refurendums, all following the identical pattern as just described, all over Europe, the Netherlands, Greece, Spain, Ireland, Hungary.
In 100 years time this will be it's own fucking chapter in the EU, either the federation of the European Union or the Dissolution of it. This is perhaps one of the most important moments in history and it is entirely on us, if we leave every other referendum will too, if we stay so will everyone else. We decide the future of Europe right now.
>>77426718
kek, sounds about right
Will the EU actually let Britain leave?
They've also promised to block any decisions made by constituent countries if they don't like them.
Also, I think it's weird how everyone else says Brexit will lead to a huge trade Kerfuffle even though the UK would be holding all the chips, so to speak.

This referendum is likely one of the most important turning points in history. Defnitely for Europe.
Either we vote leave on the 23rd and the dissolution of the EU begins, and history remembers abck to when Britain paved the way to the ending of the failed Union... or it will look back at the "failed rebellion attempt vs the united nations of Eurabia and how we were subsequently punished for our rebellion.
And you get to have an important say in this moment in history... isn't that exciting?

Whenever there's a referendum on a major change, the "change" side always needs to poll at least 55% in order to have a 50/50 chance of winning.
That's because change = fear. Retaining the status quo is seen by most people as the "safe" choice.
We see this a lot in the USA, with the marijuana legalization referendums. They don't have a chance of winning unless the pro-legalization side is polling at 55% or higher, and sometimes they don't even win when the polling shows 60% for legalization. A lot of people chicken out at the very last minute.
So what happens when leave wins by a comfortable margain and the parliament says "yeah nah we're staying anyway"? Can Lizzie pull a governor general type thing and sack the parliament?

The part of the parliament that wants to leave would be bigger, they can call for a vote of no confidence.

There has been a major swing towards leave this past week
There's still a week out and things could change but at the current rate, yes, leave is happening
It's not just outlier polls that leave is focusing on too much, leave now leads handily in poll aggregators
Obviously undecideds will determine who will win but people like to vote for who will win. I can't think of a single election in which undecideds caused the person who was losing in the polls to actually win the election

>>77428907
>What will this mean for the EU?
A Leave vote will put the future of the EU in serious doubt.
Quite a number of EU members have significant majorities that want to leave -- at an even higher percentage than the UK.
UK's leave will trigger a whole bunch of other leave referendums across the EU.
It would be nothing less than the beginning of the collapse of one of the largest non-democratic governments in the world. The Chinese government is probably the only non-democratic government that's larger than the EU, in terms of economic power.

I stand corrected.
So, boys, you have the responsibility to begin toppling the single-largest non-democratic government in the world.
It doesn't get any more important than this.
British friends, is it really going to happen? What are the chances of a last-minute cop-out?

Spain is an absolute banterlord, that's why.
Spain is suffering it's own little insurgency, with the Catalonians with two distinct differences:
1. Catalonia unilaterally wants independence. (Only 44% of scotland do.
2. The Spanish government do NOT humour them. (The Scottish referendum was legally allowed by Britain, the Catalonian one wasn't by Spain)
So Spain, being the absolute madmen they are have vowed to use their veto to ban ANY secessionist movement, to dissuade the Catalonians, that includes Catalonia itself, the basque coutyn, Scotland, Brittany, Venetia, Bvaria and several other places.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalan_self-determination_referendum,_2014
Do you guys actually think this is gonna happen? legitimately curious; i know very little about it.
How would a brexit affect muslim immigration?
>>77429452
The regions in Spain would want to leave then rejoin the EU, Scotland would like to do the same thing and if it succeeds then it sets a precedent by which say the Catalans could do it. Spain needs to block Scotland to prevent that precedence.
Gotta love the EU, local national politics fucking up the politics of other countries thousands of kilometers away.
>>77429705
Couldnt find a jap one on youtube
>>77429512
On average it will be another 20 years before scotland can attempt another referendum, even if the SNP try and force it through they want at least 6 months of >60% support before they try. That said I'd rather see scotland and england both outside the EU as separate nations.

>muslim immigration
It won't stop hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis being let in each year but at least we can avoid being forced, either politically or financially, by the EU into letting in 'refugees'.
Hopefully a successful Brexit will also lead to changes in the Conservative party that make immigration policy reform a real possibility.
>>77430137

H-hey, guys!
I know we've put a lot of work in rigging the debate polls for Hillary, creating epic memes ("Delete your account." xD That was my fav!), and overall giving her positive feedback to really let her know that she has her fingers on America's middle class pulse.
Who here is absolutely enthralled at the idea of the first woman president?! HISTORY is in the making. But, we need to have a serious conversation, /pol/. We all know we aren't just voting Hillary for her looks (hehe, love you, Hill! ;]). We are voting her because she will make America great.
She believes in gay marriage, helping minorities, and, best of all, COMMON SENSE GUN CONTROL.
We all know that places like the Donald and Reddit shill for Trump non-stop (absolutely repulsive if you ask me), but we really need to make sure Hillary takes the White House this election and ensures that we can continue seeing real progress. I know it will be hard to beat Obama, but have faith friends! I, for one, know she can do it!
Daily reminder: /pol/ is an LGBTQ and feminist friendly board. Please refrain from making sexist comments about her. IF you wish to do so, we may have to censor your posts. Grow up if you can't debate her policies. Hate speech will not be tolerated and IP addresses who use hate speech will be logged and reported. This is especially important for any country in the EU. Please, it's 2016. Be respectful of your fellow human beings and /pol/itical correctness friends. I've also been doing my part to report any suspicious activity to the NSA or CIA as well. I've been tipping them off about disgusting toxic, racist shitholes like Reddit for awhile now and encourage you to do the same. Thank you.
Now, say it with me!
HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT!
>>77430272
It couldn't, Spain wouldn't let them join the EU. If they left it would be pure muh braveheart, they would never be allowed in the EU.
Realistically it would mean nothing, we'd have freedom of movement, they'd use the GBP, Liz woule be their queen and we'd still trade just how we used to.

I wouldn't say so personally. I didn't work as hard as I could have and I probably uploaded about twice a year. The thought is appreciated though.

Clue yourself up on the ECHR, me lad. If a "refugee comes to Britain and murders/rapes we can't deport him due to the ECHR. That is the main reason we need out, so we can start deporting criminals again.

In case of imminent leave win, what are the chances of:
1. Last minute turnabout due to postal votes?
2. Last minute cancelling of the referendum because of an incident?
3. The government admits that they plain just can't leave the EU because the power to do so was just given to Brussels?

I agree. It is better than the EU since it's contained to the US, but it is frightening to me. It is definitely not what the founding fathers intended (people that live and breathe upholding our constitution). The SCOTUS was supposed to be this independent voice of wisdom, but it's become as party-divided as the other two branches. And the liberals see the constitution as something they can change.
>>77430784
Did you fuck her?
>>77430422
You're getting paid dude, the least you could do is post in the correct thread.
>tfw years from now, I'll explain to my children how I helped the UK peacefully gain independence.
If you will not do it for yourselves, do it for the story to tell your children.
Because there are two stories you can tell them - One is about how we finally won our independence after 37 years. A story of glory and greatness hard won.
The other is about how Britain went from empire to a mere federal state of Europe. A story of the great crumbling to nothing.
>>77424030
