The first time i shot an AR-15, I was in awe. I'd spent the afternoon at the range with a few friends as a shared outing. The most experienced of us was guiding us through a few different gun types. I had grown up with a militia member in the family, so I am familiar with a lot of that stuff already. But the last rifle I'd shot was an AK-47 before the MP5 was even on the market.
The thing is a piece of beauty. It is engineered to perfection. Every single part of it makes sense. It settles into your grip (and I have a hard time with rifles because I'm left eye dominant, right hand dominant with rifles and bows) almost immediately.
My first shot, without glasses, was dead center on the heart.
The AR-15 is a piece of firearm engineering elegance. If you can't comprehend and appreciate that, you haven't the intellect to appreciate human achievement.
