Our founding fathers warned us about this, they considered the right to firearms so essential it was the second right they listed. And they stated that this right "shall not be infringed".
We all knew this would happen. We knew there would come a time when our government would make their move to repeal the 2nd amendment. And we knew they would come up with some reasoning that would appeal to weak people who look to the government to create utopia on Earth. I think it may be finally happening. I have no idea how they plan to physically accomplish this, but I think Obama and our media/university classes are really pushing hard now. The point isn't that you can win pitched battles against a professional army with all its ordinance, as a rag-tag citizens' militia with small arms. The point is that you CAN FIGHT. Civilian guns prevent tens of thousands of crimes and save countless lives every year in this country, often without a shot being fired. Just the possibility that an innocent victim may be carrying a gun is the ultimate deterrent against violent crime.
